In addition to the notice of vio-lation being sent via certified mail, anotice of the violation was publishedin the Gardner News on May 1, 2019.The overgrown grass was mowedbut no maintenance was performedto the overgrown vegetation (shrubsand trees); andWHEREAS, the continued lack of main-tenance to the shrubs and trees, anda new lack of maintenance to thegrass, resulted in a notice of violationof Section 8-201 for health nuisancesbeing sent to Ms. Anderson on orabout May 28, 2019, informing her ofthe nuisance and giving her ten daysto abate the nuisance and/or requesta hearing in front of the City Councilas required by Municipal Code Sec-tion 8-205. In addition to the notice ofviolation being sent via certified mail,a notice of the violation was publishedin the Gardner News on June 19,

2019. The conditions were notabated, and no hearing was re-quested by the owner or any otherparty.BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUN-CIL, CITY OF EDGERTON, JOHNSONCOUNTY, KANSAS:That pursuant to Section 8-201 of theMunicipal Code, the City Councilhereby finds that the existence ofovergrown grass, weeds, unsightlyvegetation and health nuisances is aviolation of the Municipal Code andthe owner shall have until August 3,2019 to abate these nuisances.Should the nuisances not be abatedto the satisfaction of the City by Au-gust 3, 2019 the City of Edgerton byits agent is hereby authorized to abatethe conditions causing the violationsand remove the nuisances from theproperty pursuant to 8-208.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:That should it be necessary to abatethese conditions, any and all costsincurred by the City of Edgerton, Kan-sas, including attorneys’ fees, shall
