Map the Crap

• Unlike in the rich world, the majority of people in African cities do not benefit from the luxury of sewerage. Their toilets, if they have any, hover above pits that have usually been hand dug.

• The problem is that the guys who empty it don't make a lot of money. As a result they cannot afford safety equipment and they are sometimes tempted to take shortcuts.

• Can a game be used to improve understanding of the scale and nature of urban poverty and exclusion affecting children?

• There is some data to suggest street kids are very engaged in playing video games and they in fact foster social inclusion.

Hack Submission Guidelines

• To be eligible for a prize the team must:

• Submit by the deadline

• Post a summary of the solution onwww.rhok.org/solutions

• Register a profile on www.rhok.org for each team member and link that team member to the solution

• Post the code on a public code repository (e.g. Github or Google Code) and link to that code repository on their RHoK solution page

• Upload a brief PowerPoint presentation to a free slide share service (e.g. slideshare.com) and link to it on their solution page on www.rhok.org
