Many designers are still beginning their web projects with 980-1200px wide photoshop files, creating fixed width layouts and trying to adapt those designs to a myriad of different smaller screen sizes. This process ignores usability on smaller and lower resolution screens and fails to consider the possibility of larger screens and higher resolutions.
