10-31-12 Celanese Corp. v. Manuel Salado and Harry Ni, No. 201253858, 80th State District Ct. Near the end of
August 2012, the defendants informed Celanese that they had each accepted a job offer from Bluestar, a subsidiary of ChemChina, to work in Beijing, China. The defendants then began working with their coworkers to insure a smooth transition. However, on September 17, 2012, Celanese suddenly, with no warning, fired them, escorted them off the premises, and obtained a TRO against them, preventing them from working for Bluestar. That same day Mr Mark Rohr, the Chairman and CEO of Celanese, sent a letter to the General Manager of ChemChina, requesting that ChemChina withdraw its offers of employment to Mr. Salado and Mr. Ni. The next day Mr. Salado and Mr. Ni hired Tim. By November 1, 2012, the lawsuit had ended. Mr. Salado had accepted a new offer of employment from Celanese, and Mr. Ni had confirmed his acceptance of the job offer from Bluestar.
