Characteristics of Responsible Corporate Citizen

IMPACT The good companies of 2012 are displaying real compassion and commitment to social and environmental issues. The most effective (and honest) involvement is to address issues that fall within the domain of business.

Responsible Corporate Citizen

Corporate social responsibility is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model.

Share the Company Vision - A shared vision is a picture that everyone in the company carries in their heads and hearts.

Responsible Corporate Citizen

Passionate about the Company Mission - At the heart of any company is its mission

Live the Core Values of the Corporation - Core values are the fundamental beliefs of a person or organization.

Some examples of core values for a company might include:

A commitment to sustainability and to acting in an environmentally friendly way.

solutions to the environmental crisis.–Patagonia's Mission Statement

Ben & Jerry’s

Ben & Jerry’s turns ice cream into energyBen & Jerry’s has become the first ice cream company in the world to power one of its factories using the by-products of ice cream.

is fed into its tank, where 24 billion natural

micro-organisms break down the

particles, turning them into biogas.

A commitment to innovation and excellence

Apple ComputerApple's "Think

Different" philosophy was expressed in a

series of ads commissioned by Steve

Jobs in 1997, a time when Apple was early in its comeback from

the brink of bankruptcy. Apple has

repeatedly demonstrated with its innovation mgt. what a

success user friendliness and design can generate. Genius

ergonomics make Apple products

effortless to use. “Design is not just

what it looks like and feels like. Design is

how it works,”

A commitment to doing good for the whole and excellence.

“Don’t be evil.” Googlers generally apply those words to how we serve our users. But “Don’t be

evil” is much more than that. “Yes, it’s about providing our users unbiased access to information, focusing on their needs

and giving them the best products and services that we can. But it’s also about doing the right thing more generally – following the law, acting honorably and treating each other with respect.
