Historical information
• Founded in 1977 by Dr. Carolyn Kessler together with Dr. Curtis Hayes along with support from Mr. Jim Alatis
• UTSA was still in early construction at the time!Dr. Kessler’s goals:• To raise the level of the TESOL profession not just a “warm body” speaking English• To advocate for our field• To support the needs of the ESL learner
