What Does the Church Say On . . .
. . . Placement of Barrier-Free-Access
Seating
You may have noticed last weekend that the first
row of the handicap seating area has been fully
removed. This creates a barrier-free space for
persons with mobility considerations enabling them
to more fully participate in liturgical processions.
The space, reconfigured, eliminates impediments to
integral parts of our worship such as processing to
receive Holy Communion, Veneration of the Cross on
Good Friday, receiving Ashes, and processions during
Advent and Lent Evening Prayer.
The same Jesus who heard the cry for recognition
from the people with disabilities of Judea and
Samaria 2000 years ago calls us, His followers, to
embrace our fellow brothers and sisters in the same
manner. The barrier-free space - welcoming and
open - more fully allows for all to "...go and be the
Church."
. . The Communion Song: When Does It
Begin?
When the priest receives the Sacrament of the
Eucharist, the beautiful sounds of music begin and
the Communion song continues for as long as the
Sacrament is begin administered to the faithful.
Song as a form of worship is another way in which
we give reverence to the meaning of this most Holy
Sacrament. In particular song expresses our union in
spirit mirrored by the unity of our voices in song. It
shows joy of heart, and highlights the
"communitarian" nature of all who process to
receive Communion.

Food for Family Thought
Sometimes we expect God to appear in our lives like
a special effect in a blockbuster movie. But it's more
likely that we'll recognize God in the ripple rather
than in the wave, or hear God in the silent aftermath
rather than the raging storm: if only we take time to
look and to listen.

St. Agnes Parish's Book of
Remembrance: Dedicated to the Holy
Souls
Every October, all are welcome to enter into the Book
of Remembrance the names of loved ones who have
passed away during the current year. Throughout the
month of November, we pray for all those in this
year's Book of Remembrance, as well as all previous
years' Books. As we remember all those special
people who have been a part of our lives, let us also
reflect upon the words of St. Teresa of Calcutta:
"November begins with two beautiful days, the
Feasts of All Saints and All Souls. Holy Mother
Church remembers all of her children, to whom she has
given the life of Jesus through Baptism … We all
know that during this whole month we give them
extra love and care, by praying to them and for them."

Inspiring Hope Campaign Goal Has Been Met!
Thank you, and Thanks be to GOD!
Saint Agnes Parish is Over Goal! We are very excited to announce
that Saint Agnes Parish has officially surpassed its $900,000
Inspiring Hope campaign goal! Over this past week, another
$108,275 was pledged to the campaign! This brings our total
raised to $1,031,775 or 115% of our goal! Thank you so much to all
of those who have participated so far and thank you to all of those
who continue to pray for the success of this initiative. We are
humbled and inspired by your generosity and your love for your
parish.
We are providing a follow-up opportunity to receive decisions from
parish families who were either not here last weekend, or from
parishioners who indicated they needed more time to decide and
are now ready. This is an important moment in the campaign as we
have now surpassed our goal. As a reminder, 100% of monies
collected above our goal will remain right here at Saint Agnes to
build up parish resources for the future. We believe that with so
many families still considering the level of their support, we will exceed our goal even further and build an
even stronger parish with your help. If you are able, we ask that each family or individual consider making a
pledge that would be over and above your regular weekly offertory. Parishioners can make their pledges over
a five-year period and in a variety of ways. Regular pledge reminders will be sent out based on how often
you would like to make your pledge – monthly, quarterly, annually, etc. Parishioners can fulfill their pledges
by check, credit card, electronic funds transfer, or through planned gifts like life insurance, IRA distributions,
and through your estate. We understand some parishioners are not able to make a pledge. If you are unable
to consider a gift beyond your current giving, please pray for the continued success of the campaign and for
Saint Agnes Parish. In the coming weeks, we will follow up with parishioners who have asked for more time
to decide, or have not yet responded, about the campaign. Please contact the parish office at (781) 944-0490
if you have any questions about the campaign.

SAINT ATHANASIUS PARISH NEWS
The Christmas Faire would not be a success without all the
volunteers and all the generous donations we
receive. Every year the committee is grateful for the
generosity of our parish family. Thank-You! As you clean
out closets, toy rooms or basements, keep the Christmas
Faire in mind to give your donations. Also gift cards and
other gift donations are also needed. The following is a

please contact Michele Barrette at mjbarrette@mac.com.

know what to charge. Also, donations of jewelry gift boxes appreciated. Donations can be left in basket in back of
church.
Toys: Loose Legos, Imaginext, Star Wars, Melissa & Doug, Tonka/Hess Trucks, matchbox cars, arts & craft sets, puzzles,

am to 2:00 pm, or by arrangement.
Thank you for your support and generosity of the Christmas Faire!
Seeking NEW Volunteers to Contribute to our
SUCCESS! The Christmas Faire planning committee
has lost some great volunteers. To help the Faire
run smoothly, so we can maintain an excellent
experience for our guests and still raise money for
the church, we are looking for new volunteers to
help with the Christmas Ornament raffle, Toys,
Country Marketplace and Children’s Crafts/
games. If you are available to give some time to
the Christmas Faire in any of these areas, please
contact Michele Barrette at mjbarrette@mac.com
