SPECIAL EDUCATION INNORRA KORSHOLMS SKOLA 2 special educators 48 hours special education. Hanna works with pupils in grades 1-3

and pre-school. Jessica works with pupils in grades 4-6. We test all pupils every year in reading

(decoding, comprehension), spelling and math.

We work with pupils who score low in tests.

SPECIAL EDUCATION IN NORRA KORSHOLMS SKOLA

We co-work with the form teachers, we plan and write individual study plans for pupils with special needs.

We support form teachers and school assistents (7).

We work with psychologists, therapists and other proffessionals in health care.

- LOGOS, computer based test to analyze a student´s reading and writing skills to identify where there are difficulties.

- Other tests are done by phsychologists if we suspect that problems in reading are caused by other difficulties such as learning disabilities or attention disorders.

READING – OUR DAILY WORK

The pupils work with a Swedish material called Bravkod.

The pupil reads twice a week for about 15 minutes.

They practice letters, letter combinations and words to get a more fluent reading.

Decoding Läsverkstad is a program where one pupil from each class (2-3) reads with an adult every day in school/home for a six week period.

The special educator helps the pupil to find an interesting book and a book that are on the right reading level.

Läsrally is similar to Läsverkstad (2-3) but the focus is on reading comprehension.
