IMPORTANT REMARKS:
The following remarks must be taken into consideration for the equipment guaranteed performance terms and/or its delivery time.
(1) Formats and pouch complements (spout/zipper/straw) will have to be defined not later than 10 weeks before the machine delivery date, so that the necessary parts can be manufactured. In case of delay in providing this information, Volpak reserves its right to delay the delivery of the equipment.
(2) The machine “Output” (number of pouches per minute) will be confirmed once defined the product characteristics, film materials, dosage, formats and production conditions.
We define “Output” as the maximum speed at which the machine can operate, based on the available information concerning products, film components, formats, etc., and without considering the final production,

which will be also determined by stoppages due to reel changes, imperfections or variations in the film material specifications, lack of product, etc.
All the elements that define the product (type and characteristics) and pouch (format and constituting materials) listed in this item No II of the offer must be communicated to Volpak and agreed with the Purchase Order and will be reconfirmed through the Order Confirmation.
In case of lack of definition of any of these parameters at the reception of the Purchase Order, and particularly those referred to the type of product, dosing volumes, type of materials and formats, Volpak reserves its right to accept them on a later stage and/or to redefine the equipment speed parameters depending on its characteristics once they are finally defined.
(3) When volumetric dosing systems are used the customer shall specify the product density maximum deviation if any. Volpak guarantees a filling accuracy equivalent to that specified in the technical description of the dosing system plus the maximum density percentage deviation of the product to be dosed.
(4) The ambient conditions at the site where the equipment operates may affect its performance, in particular the dosing accuracy. With the aim of correctly configuring the machine to the climatic conditions in which it will operate, the customer must inform Volpak in the event that:
- The machine operating temperature range may fall below 10 ºC or exceed 30 ºC. - The relative humidity can exceed 90% with condensation.

VIBRATION FREE FRAME AND MECHANISM: Very strong single unit type frame made of 4mm thick sheet treated with long lasting corrosion proofing, designed to protect all moving parts inside. The machine camshaft is split to provide easy access to the machine motor reducer.
FINISH: The frame and the unwinder sides are painted with the same process as that used in the naval industry, sandblasting, two coats of Epoxy priming, one coat of hard seaworthy covering composed of: Resin and hardener. The whole process is finished with a coat of “steel-it” (stainless steel like colour) or customer requested colour paint. Unwinder outside mechanisms, pouch forming and exterior mechanisms have been corrosion proofed with an Nl-425 quality 20-micron Chemical Nickel lining against the equivalent of 10 years exposure to a sea atmosphere conditions.
All parts that are in contact with the product are made of stainless steel AISI 304/316
MAINTENANCE AND AUTOMATIC LUBRICATION: Corner-less design ensures high level cleaning. The machine is fitted with an automatic lubrication system to reduce the maintenance time to the minimum.
UNWINDING: The unwinder is desinged to ensure a smooth unwinding, to enable working with thin or difficult materials even without jerking so that the film is in the best possible conditions for the pouch making process.
With the capability to maintain constant the operation conditions independently of the size of the reel avoiding regulations and ensuring an optimum quality of the process.
The reel holder shaft is pneumatically extendible to provide for rapid reel fastening or removal.
It is equipped with an end-of-reel detector to stop the machine prior the reel is finished, simplifying the reel changing by means of the film-splicing table.
A LF (low friction) forming triangle adjustable in height will fold the film to form the pouches.
To make stand up pouches, the unwinding unit has a gusset perforator, a forming triangle and a reel edge- aligning device to ensure perfect alignment of pouch faces when the film has been folded.
GUSSET PERFORATOR: Designed to meet the need for accuracy, easy adjustment and long lasting. The two perforators are independent and the punch and hole form a block unit. This provides rapid adjustment during format changing, without having to access the inside of the machine or stop it running.
A blowing system removes cuttings with a turbine suction system and deposits them in a container.
EFFECTIVE REEL EDGE ALIGNMENT: The reel edge aligner serves to keep the film perfectly aligned at the top ends. It is fitted just before the forming triangle to ensure direct immediate action even at every machine cycle.
The friction rollers controlled by two optic fibre photocells lead the path of the film.

FORMING TRIANGLE: The unit with the forming triangle and the bottom-folding triangle serves to fold the film into a “W” at a pre-set gusset height. The system is motor driven to adjust its position to the height of the pouch and the gusset desired.
MOTOR DRIVEN SEALING JAWS: Directly driven mechanically off a cam, the jaws are independent and each has a sealer with a temperature probe controlled from the touch screen.
The machine is fitted with a horizontal bottom sealer for the specific shape of the pouch. Each vertical seal is made double with an iron sealer acting against one covered with silicone that adapts to the different thickness of the gusset of the pouch.
There is also a cooling/ironing jaw to smooth the sealed area to achieve a perfect wrinkle free finish.
The whole unit is mounted on an independent mobile motor plate to absorb printing blurs by adjusting the position of the jaws with the machine running without needing to open the protecting plates.
Pressure is adjusted independently for each sealer. Alignment and contact between sealers must not be regulated even when the format is changed.
INSTANTANEOUS FILM DRIVE: The film drive is mechanical and linear and has a double fastening arm holding the film throughout its height to prevent slipping.
The drawing correction with reference to the spot is done instantaneously in every cycle and with high precision.
ADJUSTABLE CUTTERS: The double opening blades are mounted on a supporting shaft designed to provide easy dismounting and assembly without the need of re-adjustment and resetting. The time required for dismounting or assembly is shorter than one minute.
WALKING BEAM: Designed to protect its inside mechanism against product action.
Rapid anchoring points simplify maintenance, removal and assembly while ensuring perfect alignment and readjusting.
There are two points / connections to facilitate lubrication without having to dismount the walking beam.
POSITIVE POUCH OPENING: This Volpak developed system guarantees pouch opening, irrespective of the type of material or working conditions involved, by combining three different functions: Positive pincer opening Vacuum suction pads Blow tubes.
Pouch bottom opening is achieved by mechanically driven suction pads travelling on a completely linear path. They have a built-in detector controlling correct opening of the bottom and informing the filler.

NO POUCH NO FILL: When the pouch opening station detects that the pouch is not properly or sufficiently open, it sends a signal to the filler to prevent filling and avoid product spillage and loss.
FILLING STATIONS: The SP-170 has three filling stations enabling the assembly of several fillers at the same time for multiple-component products or, even, an added station to supply promotional coupons or divide total filling to take full advantage of machine speed.
ADJUSTMENT STATIC POUCH STRETCHING: Pouch stretching is applied equally to both sides of the pouches in linear direction. The upper part of the pouch is delivered to the top seal station completely flat for a wrinkle free sealing.
ACCESSIBLE TOP SEALING: This includes one independent mechanical cam-driven top jaws and a cooling jaw, where each jaw has a temperature probe adjustable from the touch screen. Thanks to our new swinging system, orders can be given through the touch screen for the jaw to rise and the sealing bars open so that they are perfectly accessible.
MACHINE POUCH OUTLET: Machine outlet is achieved through a motor driven belt in line with the machine so that pouches come out in standing up position.
At the same time, a ramp placed at the packaging machine outlet acts as a reject ramp.
ELECTRICAL DATA: The machine is governed by a PLC Omron model CJ1M controlling all the electric parts of the machine except the emergency stops and protecting devices, as these use a separate electric circuit for safety reasons.
Human Machine Interaction (HMI) is achieved through a data terminal with a 6” colour touch screen.
There is also the possibility of modem connection to enable Volpak electrical after sale service.
H01040 GUARDINGS FOR UNWINDER
Perspex guardings to protect the unwinder area against the dust in the room where the machine is installed and also against the product packaged.
The rear guards are fix and the front and lateral open giving access to the necessary places. They equip the safety micro-switches to stop the machine when opening.
On most of the SP models the reel and the film splicing table remain uncovered in order to better facilitate the access.

A system including a small folding triangle to help folding the film in W shape, and guides to make the fold of the gusset of the pouch.
The pouch opening station is also equipped with suction cups to open the gusset.
The main purpose of this gusset is to increase pouch capacity within the same format.
H02150 NO POUCH NO FILL DETECTOR
This is a security device to avoid fill discharge in case there is no pouch available at the filling station or pouch available is not properly open to receive product in optimal conditions.
H02160 REEL EDGE ALIGNER
To align the top edges of the film once it is folded in order to avoid overlapping of the two faces of the film.
Two photocells detect material shift tendencies while the film it is still unwound and flat. A servomotor corrects the position of the aligner forcing the film to the other side until the necessary balance is achieved.
This system provides constant automatic correction while the machine is working.

The motor synchronized with the main machine drive and through the said roller, feeds of material the pouch forming section, maintaining always the same tension in the film and so guaranteeing that the pouch is sealed in the best conditions.
When it applies, with he help of a photocell eye, the servo positions the material in the different stations of the unwinder to enable a precise piercing with the gusset perforators, a precise printing with a thermo printer, etc.
H02290 AUTOMATIC REGULATION OF GUSSET PUNCHERS
Photocell system placed next to the gusset perforators, that through the spot marks printed on the film
material, detects the position of the film and corrects it, at every cycle, to guarantee that the perforators pierce exactly in the right place.
H07130 MAGNETIC INDUCTIVE FLOW METER TRIPLEX MIF-772
Specific filler for liquid or paste products at temperatures from 10º C to 98º C and up to 30.000 cps viscosity.
Filling doses are controlled by a MIF (Magnetic Inductive Flowmeter) using induced current under a magnetic field, appropriate to products with a minimum conductivity of 1 micro Siemens per cm2.
Filling accuracy with water is +/- 1 % and with other products it will depend directly on the amount of air they contain.
The unit is made up of an intermediate 85 litre capacity accumulation hopper at the top of the filler made of AISI-316L stainless steel to provide better resistance to corrosion and meet required health standards. There is a brightly polished finish inside to minimise product adherence and facilitate cleaning.
It is built to allow for including an optional pressure system up to 3 bar so that paste products can be filled under internal pressure.
On request, an inspection window can be installed to control product level inside the hopper by sight.
All the seals in the hopper are made of non-porous texture expanded Teflon as approved by the FDA.

The system is protected against product overfeeding by and On-Off inlet valve made of AISI-316L stainless steel with a service pressure of 6 bar and DN 50 or 2” calibre meeting the most usual product conditions required for industrial plant.
Filling accuracy permitting, this valve can be used for maximum level hopper filling control. But if maximum accuracy is required, as option there is a maximum hopper level control signal that can be transmitted unprepared or through PID algorithms to the product supply regulator.
At hopper outlet before manifold, the filler incorporates a manual throttle valve to cut off product supply for any maintenance tasks arising. This valve is made AISI-316L stainless steel.
The pipes or connections including the manifold ensure its laminar flow, which prevents the formation of cavities and possible impairing of filler accuracy. They are made of AISI-316 L stainless steel.
Piping joints and accessories used have rounded threads to prevent residue accumulating there.
The Flow Meter is directly connected to the PLC and it is programmed through the touch screen.
The Filler control system pilots, from the packaging machine itself, all measuring or driving parts related to the filler, although interface configurations can be established with product and cleaning liquid (CIP) supply systems depending on the peculiarities of each installation.
In fillers with more than one nozzle, filling control is established in each channel individually so that accuracy is ensured in each filler unit.
There are two different dimensions for Flow Meters depending on the inside passage diameter: DN-15 , 15 mm. DN-25 , 25 mm.
The Flow Meter is easy to clean and withstands the products and cleaning processes normally used. The connections from the outlet to the filler nozzles are flexible.
The filler nozzle works with a pneumatic close and is piloted by the Flow Meter. It is made of AISI-316L stainless steel and Econol, which are chemically inert materials preventing problems associated with erosion arising from dissolved crystal solids like sugar, salt or carbonate.
The filler nozzle chamber, through which the product flows, was designed to avoid sharp corners and the closing peg is one-piece so that it has no joints. This makes cleaning easy and minimises times spent on maintenance and product changes. The seals are made of foodstuff grade silicone.
The whole filler is prepared for CIP (Cleaning in place) incorporation so that cleaning is either fully or partially automatic.
(CIP) cleaning times for each of the various filler areas or circuits are totally individually programmable.

H07320 PRESURIZED HOPPER
Equipping the hopper with an air pressure system to enable filling pasty products. The hopper will work at an internal pressure of 3 bar enabling the viscous product to flow through the filler.
The hopper is built to withstand pressures up to 6 bar.

An automatic device to clean the inside of the hopper and remaining filler pipes. It is monitored from the
machine control board.
Composed of two spherical sprinklers (spray balls) each acting over an 360º area flat and another 360º swivel motion so that they sprinkle in all directions to ensure complete cleaning.
The spherical sprinklers are made of AISI-316L stainless steel to prevent possible incompatibility arising with the basic acid products normally used in industry.
Designed to concentrate on a single inlet connected to the two sprinklers and the product inlet. The cleaning product is distributed through a 3-way valve to the two sprinklers to clean the hopper and product inlet.
The 3-way valve is made of AISI-316L stainless steel, works at pressures up to 6 bar and withstands the cleaning processes normally used in industry.
It works with a minimum flow of 2,5 m3/hour at 0,7 bar pressure and reaches maximum cleaning efficiency in minimum time with a 5 m3/hour flow at 2 bar pressure.
The hopper and the piping are cleaned in two distinct alternating phases. The first of these floods the hopper at high pressure so that the cleaning passes through the piping at a high speed; the second, with the hopper empty, uses the sprinklers to clean the inside of the hopper.
An emptying hose is connected to the nozzle simply by clamping it on to provide a flow able to wash away remaining product.
As appropriate, the various hose pipes are connected to a collector with a single outlet to a general drain pipe.

The general drain pipe is connected to a draining pump, or to return system to send the cleaning product back to the hopper.
H07490 HOPPER LEVEL DETECTOR (ANALOGIC)
It detects the level of the product in the filling hopper and controls the automatic feeding system (in case it exists) to keep the product at a suitable level in the hopper. A regular level in the hopper favours filler accuracy.
The detector works on the principle of product mass proximity with a 4 to 20 mA signal.
Inside hopper level control can be transmitted, either unprepared or through PID algorithms, to a product feed regulator to ensure smooth arrangement of the level in the hopper.
Its signal triggers the appropriate alarms when faulty situations are detected.
The parts of the probe that are in direct contact with the product are made of AISI-316L stainless steel with a polished electrolytic finish ensuring roughness under 0,8 µ as required by the UNE EN 1672-2 standard demanded in the foodstuff industry, which guarantees the lack of cracks that would produce culture areas for bacteriologic organisms, mildew and the like and might be able to resist the cleaning process.

3) ZONA DOSIFICACIÓN
3.1 Sistema de llenado con control inductivo y dosificador MIF-772: - 500 ml -> llenado en simplex, con dos descargas de producto por sobre - 900 ml -> llenado en simplex, con dos descargas de producto por sobre
3.2 Control de presurización de tolva a ser comandado mediante HMI.
3.3 Incidencia: ante caída de tensión o presurizado, la boquilla permanece abierta, con lo que se puede vaciar el tanque. Volpak a incluir válvula de paso, de dos vías, tras tanque, previo distribuidor, comunicada con PLC y que habilite alarma por HMI. Esta válvula, de posición natural cerrada, permitirá el cierre automático, por resorte, en caso de falla neumática y/o eléctrica.
3.4 Punto de mejora: los 4 fuelles de las patas de los carros, protegiendo las articulaciones, son débiles y de fácil quebrar.
3.5 Hay 18 puntos de lubricación manual recomendados por en la zona de accionamiento de carros. Evaluar:
- Ampliar la capacidad de la bomba de lubricación actual
Reunir y centralizar todos los puntos de engrase manual para posibilitar accionamiento realizado por operario (no automático y accionado por la parte trasera) y reducirlo a un único punto de carga de aceite FDA

5) SEGURIDAD
5.1 Switches de puerta: interruptores de seguridad, los Telemecanique magnéticos
5.2 Cuchillas: - Seguridad: no permitir que la cuchilla haga su ciclo en cualquier tipo de parada, incluyendo
emergencia. - El sistema creado en la anterior Volpak realiza su función trabajando en función normal,
pero no en parada de emergencia.
5.3 Disponer la serie de seguridad dentro de caja de bornes en lugar del micro. Añadir indicación en panel con información de la puerta en particular que esté abierta.
5.4 Volpak a disponer que el jog sólo funcione con las puertas cerradas.
5.5 Cambio de formato:
- Por pantalla táctil, posicionar en la parte de ciclo preseleccionado bajo nombre: “Cambio de referencia – Posición 1” y “Cambio de referencia – Posición 2”.
- Debiera tener dos partes, dos pasos.
5.6 Puertas internas de parte mecánica y eléctrica son demasiado grandes. Mejorar manejabilidad. Propone sustituir tapas por policarbonato por la mejora en el peso y por la transparencia. En este caso debieran incluir micros de seguridad de puerta.
6) OTROS
6.1 Repuestos recomendados para 1 año: Volpak a dar listado para proceso interactivo de definición de componentes.
6.2 Enviar 50 litros de cada tipo de producto a dosificar
6.3 Incidencia para comprobar durante FAT y SAT: tras realizar cambio de volumen en dosificación, el sistema inductivo, Yokogawa, tarda bastante tiempo en reaccionar y acomodarse, con lo que tienen un gap de unos 300 a 400 sobres con grandes errores de dosificación. Ante ello se instalará medidores Bopp & Reuther.

Seguridad de la máquina, No es confiable ya que en cualquier momento alguien puede dar marcha a la maquina sin saber que se esta trabajando en la parte trasera y en la parte posterior se puede operar con el pulsador manual sin ver si alguien esta en peligro en el frente de la máquina.

Cambio de Formato de carros (cuaqluier formato). Para realizar esta operación, se inicia cambiando el carro abierto, y luego poner en movimiento la máquina para lograr abrir el que esta cerrado y asi poder reaizar el cambio del mismo.

riesgos: 1- de SEGURIDAD inherente a la operacion de la máquina haciendose actividades manuales. 2- Posibilidad de roper las tijeras por encontrarse un carro entre las mismas, ya que esta suelto.

In case these conditions are not satisfied Volpak is entitled to postpone the delivery accordingly.
Guarantee: The Supplier guarantees, based on 24 hour, 7 day per week working environment, for
a period of twenty four (24) months for the parts manufactured by the Supplier and 12 months for commercial parts from the later:
of the date of the Acceptance Certificate; the commissioning of the plant of which the Article forms part (or in the case of
delivery only items where the Supplier is not required to install the Article the date the Purchaser puts the Article into operation), notwithstanding that such a term will begin, at the latest, once 120 days have elapsed from the date of the Acceptance Certificate; or

that it shall (at the option of the Purchaser) promptly repair or replace free of all cost
the Article or any part of it which, in normal use and service, fails to comply with Clause 14.1(g) (Warranties, representations and undertakings) (the "Guarantee"). Such repairs and replacements shall be to the satisfaction of the Purchaser.

X. GENERAL TERMS OF SALE
1. Scope: These General Terms of Sale will apply to: (1) the manufacture and /or sale by Volpak, S.A. ('Volpak') of packaging and packing equipment, and, (2) the manufacture and/or sale of accessories for such equipment.
2. Obligations of parties involved: Volpak bind themselves to make for the Buyer, at the latter's charge, the equipment and/or the accessories pertaining thereto and deliver them to the Buyer who, in his turn, puts himself under the obligation to receive them, pay the price for them and also deliver to Volpak the necessary raw material and product at a date early enough to enable carrying out the appropriate functioning tests; all subject to the conditions shown on the back of this document (detailing price, delivery terms, type and period of payment and technical description of the equipment in question).
3. Terms of Delivery: The terms of delivery of the equipment and/or accessories will be subject as expressed on the back of this document, and, in any case, depend on INCOTERMS current at the time.
4. Acceptance of Delivery: The delivery will be understood as accepted on the Buyer's signing the relevant reception certificate. In any case, the said reception will be deemed as made 15 days after delivery if the Buyer has not stated otherwise.
5. Ownership: The ownership of the equipment and/or accessories will not be transferred to the Buyer until the latter has settled the total price of the equipment and/or accessories, and Volpak maintain their full rights over them until this is so.
6. Guarantee: Volpak guarantee the equipment and/or accessories against all defect of manufacture and bind themselves to repair or replace free of charge any proving to be faulty for a period not exceeding 1 year as from their reception. The length of this guarantee will be automatically reduced to six months if the production rate is equivalent to two eight-hour shifts or to 3 months if there are three shifts. Volpak cannot be held liable for (a) damage caused by improper or, excessive use, or incorrect maintenance of the equipment and/or accessories; (b) damage caused by interference by third parties; and, (c) faulty fixing of the equipment and/or accessories in the masonry or infrastructures carried out by the Buyer.
7. Breach: The failure to fulfill any of the obligations accepted by the two parties to these General Terms of Sale will empower the injured party to act as provided for under article 1.124 of the Código Civil (Civil Code), although, in the case of breach by Volpak, the amount of recompense for damages, to which the Buyer has a right, will be limited to the value of the purchased equipment.
8. Taxes: The taxes deriving from this document will be paid by the parties as established by the Law.
9. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction: These General Terms of Sale will be governed by and interpreted according to Spanish law. Such legal questions as cannot be solved in a friendly manner in 30 days, will be submitted to the institutional arbitration of the Tribunal Arbitral de Barcelona (Barcelona Court of Arbitration).

XI. EQUIPMENT INSTALLATIONS - GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
(a) Installation dates should be agreed between Customer and Volpak. Customer should communicate the requested
dates to Volpak with reasonable time in advance, to allow Volpak to plan the required resources.
(b) Customer should supply all the facilities required for the installation of the Volpak equipment these facilities should be completed by the time of the arrival of the Volpak service people. If this was not the case, any delay and waiting time of the Volpak people will be charged to customer.
(c) Customer should have available the materials and products, when they are required by Volpak,
to adjust the machine(s) and make the commissioning trials. If this was the case or the materials did not fit well on the machine because lack of quality and /or specifications, all waiting time and delays caused for that will be charged to customer. If the above would cause the need to extend the assistance and /or additional traveling to complete the startup, all extra costs would be charged to customer.
(d) The Volpak service assistance covers the installation, commissioning and production startup. Formal training
sessions and /or production stand-by are not included. If during / after the installation, the customer would ask additional assistance to cover production stand-by, formal training, etc, these would be charged separately.
(e) Unless clearly specified in the contract, the Installation cost estimate does not included any other additional tests
or services that customer would like to do, such as efficiencies tests, technical audits and Site Acceptance Tests ( SAT ) If during / after the installation, the customer would ask additional assistance to run these tests, the costs would
be charged separately.
(f) Cost estimate is based for the startup of the standard designed Volpak machine. If customer would ask for additional specifications and / or modifications, all the extra time required during installation and startup, caused for these changes, would be quoted separately.
(g) The installation cost estimate covers the commissioning and startup of one product and one pouch size only. If
customer would like to make productions trials with each product and pouch sizes, the service costs, if not previously quoted, would be charged separately.
(h) Once the installation is completed, and the Volpak equipment is performing well, customer should sign the
Equipment Acceptance Certificate, which will be the official acceptance of the equipment by the customer and the starting of the Warranty period.
(i) In the even that some equipment performance tests were included in the contract, these tests would be done
according to the agreed procedures. If these tests should have to be extended, for any reason not attributable to Volpak, all the extra costs would be charged to customer
