toHimandHimalone.TogiveaswellastowithholdliesinHispower.Askasmuchofhisfavoursasyoucan.

to ask for his mercy and favours, but also has promised to listen to your prayers. He has notappointedguardstopreventyourreachingHim.InvokeHishelpindifficultiesanddistress.Implorehimtograntyoulonglifeandsoundhealth.Praytohimforprosperity.ThinkoveritthatbysimplygrantingyoutheprivilegeofprayingforHisfavoursandmercy,He

hashandedoverthekeysofHistreasurestoyou.Wheneveryouareinneed,pray,andHegiveshisfavoursandblessings.Sometimesyou find request arenot immediatelygranted.Donotbedisappointed.Fulfillmentof

desires rests with the true purpose or intention of the prayer. More often fulfillment is delayedbecausethemercifulLordwantstobestowuponyousuitablerewards.Inthemeantimebearpatientlyhardships, believing sincerely inHis help.Youwill get better favours, because, unknowingly, youmay ask for things that are really harmful to you.Many of your requests, if granted, may bringeternaldamnation.So,attimes,withholdingfulfillmentisablessingindisguise.

Ihdinas’siraat’al Mustaqeem Si’raat’al Lad’eena An-A’mta A’layhim Ghayril Maghz’’oobiA’layhimWaLaz’’Z’’aaalleen“Keepuson therightpath.Thepathof thoseuponwhomThouhastbestowedfavors.Not (the

path)ofthoseuponwhomThywrathisbroughtdown,norofthosewhogoastray.”(Suraal-Fatiĥa,1:6-7)No matter how much wisdom you have, always beseech Allah to guide you in the right path,

whateverthefieldofenquiryoractivityyouaretakingafter.SeekAllah’shelptokeepyouverycloseto theways andmeans of the righteous and the pious servants ofAllah (theHolyProphet and theAhlul Bayt), the surest road to success in this world, and to keep you away from the dishonestmethods and hypocritical attitude of the astray devils (the followers of the accursed Shaytan),althoughtheymayappearprofitableforalittlewhile,butfinallybringyouruinanddestructionintheend.

RabbanaTaqabbalMinnaInnakaAntasSamee-u’lA’leem“…Our Lord! accept from us; surely Thou art the Hearing, the Knowing.” (Sura al-Baqara,

2:127)Prophet Ibrahim and prophet Isma-il, while building the holy Ka’-bah prayed to Allah for the

successfulcompletionoftheirproject.Puttingintheirbesteffortsdoesnotmakeyourlabourfruitful,because therearemanyunknownanduncontrollable forcesworking in theuniverse that canbringdisappointmentifAllah,whonotonlyknowsbuthastotalcontroloverallthingsandevents,doesnothelpyou.Soalways invokeAllahbyreciting thisverse in the traditionsofHisprophets,wheneveryoutakeupajob,whichhasnotbeenprohibited.Alsorecitethisverseattheendofanygooddeed-afterprayinganywajiborsunnahsalat,orwhen

you have readwhole or part of the holyQur ’an, in a single sitting, or after attending amajlis (areligiousgatheringformentioningthemeritsoftheHolyProphetandhisAhlulBayt).Recitationofthisverseisalsorecommendedforseekingfulfillmentofanylegitimatedesires.

WaId’aaSa-alakaI’baadeeA’nneeFaInneeQareebUjeebuDa’-WatadDaa-i’Id’aaDa-a’aniFal-YastajeebooLeeWalYoo-MinooBeeLa-A’llahumYarshudoon“AndwhenMyservantsaskyouconcerningMe,thensurelyIamverynear;Ianswertheprayer

of thesuppliantwhenhecallsonMe,so theyshouldanswerMycallandbelieve inMethat theymaywalkintherightway.”(Suraal-Baqara,2:186)

ThisversetellsusnottoturntoanyonebutAllahtoaskforfulfillmentofallourwantsandneeds,andalsotomakeitclearthatthereisnootherwaytogetsatisfactionofourdesiresexcepttoinvokeAllah,whoanswerswhenevercalledbysupplicant.ItbringsyouneartoAllahandkeepsyouontherightpath.AllahanswerstothecryofhelpbecausetheloveofAllahforHisservantsismuchgreaterthantheloveofamotherforherchildren.Thisdua’amayberecitedas ithelps togetnearnessofAllahandtohavecompletefaith inHim

alone;andbecauseAllahsayshewillanswerwheneverheiscalled.Thisversemakestherecitationofdua’anecessaryandobligatoryforallMuslims.Tomultiply livelihoodand toobtain fulfillmentof legitimatedesires recite this verse700 times

afterperformingwuduandbeforeprayinganywajibsalat. Itcanbereducedto70 timesor7 timesaccordingtoyourconvenience.

RabbanaaaAatinaaFiddunyaaH’asanataWaFilAakhiratiH’asanataWaQinaaA’d’aabanNaar“…OurLord,giveusgoodinthisworldandgoodintheHereafter,andsaveusfromthetorment

ofFire.”(Suraal-Baqara,2:201)

Accordingtothisverse,shortandtemporarylifeinthisworldisasimportantastheeternallifeofthehereafter.Although good in the permanent life of the hereafter is the aim of allMuslims, but god in this

worldisalsonecessarybecausemanhasbeenaskedbyhiscreatortotakepartinallactivitiesofthisworldwithoutbreakingtherulesandregulations,madebyHim.SobeseechHimforthegoodinboththeworlds.Thisverseisgenerallyrecitedasqunootinalprayers.

Itcanberecitedatthetimeofwalkingaround(tawaf)theHolyKa’-bah.

RabbanaaaAfrighA’laynaaS’abrawWaThabbitAqdamanaaWanSurnaaA’lalQawmilKaafireen“…OourLord,pourpatiencedownonus,andmakeourfootholdfirm,andhelpusagainstthe

disbelievingpeople”.(Suraal-Baqara,2:250)

This verse teaches us to pray for grant of patience and perseverance in the face of trial andtribulationsofthisworldsothatweremainfaithfultothetruereligionofAllah,evenifdeprivedofthecomfortsoflife,asthesetwoaspectsofourcharactermakeusfightourenemiesandtheenemiesofAllah.IfwereadthelifeaccountoftheholyProphet,ImamAliandtheirinfallibledescendants,wefind

that their liveswere the trueexpositionof thisverse.Recite thisdua’a in the timesof trials,and toundoandputanendtotheintriguesofyourenemies.

usaburdensuchasyoulaidonthosebeforeus.OourLord,donotimposeuponusthatwhichwehavenotthestrength(tobear).Pardonus,andforgiveus,andhavemercyonus.Youareourlord-master,sohelpusagainsttheunbelievingpeople.”(Suraal-Baqara,2:286)

The right path (what to do andwhat not to do) has been clearly shown toman byAllah. Thesecommandmentsareveryeasy to follow,notbeyondourcapacity,as theholyProphetoncesaid:“Ihavebroughtforyouaveryeasyreligion.”Nowmanisresponsibleforwhathedoes.Ifwemakemistakes,bybreakinglawsofAllah,wemust

admitourmistakesandhumblyandsincerelyseekforgivenessofourmercifulLord,whonotonlyforgivesfaultsbuthelpsustoovercomeourenemiesandtheenemiesofAllah;andinthisway,keepsawayfromushardshipsandsorrowsthatthey(enemies)mightbringifAllahdoesnotstopthem,inanswertooursupplications.Throughthisprayerweprayforthetriumphoftruthoverfalsehoodandthesuppressionofsatanic

tendenciesbygodliness,andaskAllahnottoinflictonussituationsunderwhichwemaynotbeabletoavoidwrongdoing.Afteracknowledgingour limitationsweundertake toworkatourmaximumcapacity,hopingthatthroughhismercyHewillwipecleanalltracesoferrorsandmistakes.

Rabbanaa Laa Tuzigh Quloobanaa Ba’-Da Id’hadaytanaaWa Hab LanaaMil Ladunka Rah’mahInnakaAntalWahaab“OurLord!makenotourheartstodeviateafterThouhastguidedusaright,andgrantusfrom

Theemercy;surelyThouartthemostliberalGiver”(SuraAli-‘Imran,3:8)

Itisbettertobecarefulandrecitethisdua’ainadvancesothatwemaynotchangeourheartandmind(followanotherreligion)afteracceptingthetruereligionofAllah,Islam,theonlyrightpath.Thisprayerisaprecautiontoavoidpossibleperversionofthemindandtheheartafteraccepting

divine guidance. The purpose of our lives in this temporary and transient world is to makepreparationfortheeternallifeofthehereafter.Tostrengthenyourfaithrecitethisdua’aineverywajibaswellassunnahsalat.

AllaahummaMaalikalMulkiTu’-tilMulkaManTashaa-uwaTanzi-u’lMulkaMimmanTashaawaTu-i’zzuManTashaa-uwaTud’illuManTashaaBiyadikalKhayrInnakaA’laaKulliShay’inQadeerToolijulLaylaFinNahaariwaToolijunNahaaraFilLaylwaTukhrijulMayyitaMinalH’ayywa

TarzuquManTashaa-uBighayriH’isaab“..OAllah,MasteroftheKingdom!ThougivestthekingdomtowhomsoeverThoupleasestand

takestawaythekingdomfromwhomsoeverThoupleasest,andThouexaltestwhomThoupleasestand abasest whom Thou pleasest in Thine hand is the good; surety, Thou hast power over allthings.ThoumakestthenighttopassintothedayandThoumakestthedaytopassintothenight,andThoubringestforththelivingfromthedeadandThoubringestforththedeadfromtheliving,andThougivestsustenancetowhomThoupleasestwithoutmeasure.”(SuraAli-‘Imran,3:26-27)

Sovereignty belongs toAllah.He is theSole&UltimateAuthority in domains of creations andlegislations.EverythingiscreatedbyHim,sotototalsubmissiontoHisWillisIslam,whichhasbeendescribed in these verses in the form of prayer. TheHoly Prophet and hisAhlulbayt have rightlyadvisedthebelieverstorecitethisprayeratalloccasions,sothattheconvictionintheomnipotenceofthe Almighty Lord permeates their hearts and minds guide them in all their physical and mentalactivities.AcompleteresignationtoAllah’swillispossibleonlywhenmanbelievesthatitisAllahwhoalone

candoandundothings,conceivableand inconceivable, ineasyanddifficult.The thengraceof theLord abounds, because in his hands is all good. There should be no complaint, nor grudge, norfrustration. With total resignation to his will, man must pray and invoke his mercy to obtainfulfillmentofhis/herlegitimatewantsandneeds.He(Allah)andHealone,andnooneelsebestowsuponwhomsoeverhechooses, thepower to

exercisetheauthority,inthisworld,orinthehereafter.Tosomehegivespowerinthisworldthoughmany of themdo not followhis commandments.Hemust not get confused. It is not our look outbecauseourknowledgeofthings,personsandeventsishopelesslyverylittle.Heknowswhyhehasdoneso.AbdullahIbneAbbassaidthatthismayversemaycontainthegreat

nameofAllah,ismiazam.Ifthisdua’aisrecitedwithrealizationofitsmeaning,therealizationofhisabsolutesovereigntyandhisexclusiverightsandoption,Allahwillfullfilthelegitimatedesiresofthereciterofthisdua’a.Nottobeproudandarrogantafterachievingsuccess,inthisworld,recitethisdua’aregularly.According to theHolyProphetwhoso recites theseversesdaily afterFajr salaat, gets sufficient

meanstolivelihood.Alsotherecitergetsenoughfundstorepayloans.Todiscardnervousnessinbigpublicgatherings,orifthereisfearofinsultorharmatthetimeofmeetingapersonoragroupofpersonsrecitethisdua’a.

RabbiHabLeeMilLadunkaD’urriyyatanT’ayyibahInnakaSamee-u’dDu’aa“OLord,bestowmeagoodlyoffspringfromYou;verily,Youarethehearerofprayer”.”(Sura

Ali-‘Imran,3:38)(9)When Zakariyya sawMaryam receiving her sustenance direct fromAllah, he was somuch

convincedofHisextraordinarybenevolenceanditsmiraculousnaturethathebeseechedHimtogivehimatayyab(virtuous,blessedandgood)son,hecouldnotnormallyhavesincehiswifewasbarren.Recitationofthisdua’a7timesaftereverywajibsalaatwillmakeyourchildrenpiousandobedient.

نیرفاكلا موقلا ىلع انرصناوRabbanaghfir lanaa d’unoobanaawa israafanaa fee amrinaawa thabbit aqdaamanaawan s’urnaa

a’lalqawmilkaafireen“OourLord,forgiveusoursinsandourexcessesinouraffairs,andsetourfootholdfirm,and

helpusagainstthedisbelievingpeople”.(SuraAli-‘Imran,3:147)

TheHolyQur ’an says that all the prophets ofAllahwhohad fought in thewayofAllah, nevergivingintotheenemiesofAllah,usedtorecitethisdua’a.By reason of their steadfastness and their asking for protection and seeking refugewith Allah,

Allahgrantedthemvictoryagainstinfidels,glorifiedtheirmissionandenhancedtheirreputation.AshumanbeingswemaycommitmistakesandnotfollowtheinstructionsgivenbyAllah,sowe

mustseekHisforgivenesswithfirmdeterminationthatwewillnotcommitsuchsinsanymore.Wemustalsorecitethisdua’atoremainfirminourfaithnomatterwhatthetemptationsare,sothatwemaydefeatourenemiesandtheenemiesofAllah.Thedua’acanalsoberecitedtoremovehardshipsanddifficultiesputinourwaybyourenemies

soastoinduceustogiveuptherightwayofdoingthingsasAllahhasaskedustodo.

RabbanaaMaaKhalaqtaHaad’aaBaat’ilaaSubh’aanakaFaqinaaA’d’aabanNaar“O our Lord, You have not created (all) this in vain. Glory be to You. Save us then from the

tormentofthefire”(SuraAli-‘Imran,3:191)

TheHolyQur ’ansaysthatthosewhorememberAllahallthetimeandtrytounderstandthenatureof His creation recite this dua’a, because in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in thedifferenceofnightanddayaresignsofHisomnipotenceforthemenofunderstanding.Recitethisdua’ainthequnootoftahajjud(nightprayer)

AamannaaRabbanaaFaghfirLanaaD’unoobanaaWaKaffirA’nnaaaSayyi-AatinaaWaTawaffanaaMa-A’lAbraaar“O our Lord, we have indeed heard the voice of a preacher (messenger) calling (us) to faith:

“BelieveinyourLord.”Sowebelieved.OurLord,forgiveusthenoursins,andremovefromusourevildeeds,andmakeusdiewiththevirtuous”.(SuraAli-‘Imran,3:193)

This is the continuation of dua’a. The wise men hear the message of Allah, and, as they havealready understood themeaning of the nature of divine creation, readily accept the true faith, thebeliefintheoneandonlyAllah,seekingHisforgivenessforthesinstheyhavecommittedinthedaysofignorance;andnotforgettingthatAllah(alone)cankeepthemontherightpathtillthelatdayoftheirlivesinthisworld,invokeHimtomakethemdieastruebelievers.Makeahabitofrecitingthisdua’abecausethereisnothingworthkeepingwithyourselfexceptthe

true faith to the last breathofyour life, inorder toobtainpermanentbliss in thenextworld.Thisworldisaplaceof testandtrialforyou.Evenafterawholelifetimeof truefaithifapersonforasingleinsignificantmoment,doesnotbelieveintheoneandonlyAlmightyAllahinthelastbreathofhislife,heisforevercondemnedtofireofhell.

RabbanaaWaAatinaaMaaWa-A’ttanaaA’laaRusulikaWaLaaTukhzinaaYawalQiyaamahInnak

LaaTukhlifulMee’a’ad“OourLord,giveuswhatYouhavepromisedusthroughYourmessengers,anddonotdisgraceus

onthedayofresurrection.Verily,YoudonotbreakYourpromise”.(SuraAli-‘Imran,3:193)

Throughthisdua’athefaithfulservantsofAllah,whohaveacceptedthetruereligion,revealedbyAllahthroughHismessengers,invokeAllahtokeepthemsafefromtheshameanddisgrace,theevildoerswillfaceonthedayofjudgement,becauserewardsandfavourshavebeenpromisedonlyforthosewhobelieveinAllahanddogooddeedsinthisworld.Everyfaithfulshouldrecitethisdua’atoreceivefavoursofAllahonthedayofjudgement.

La-inAnjaanaaMinHaad’iheeLanakoo-NannaMinashShakireenIfHe(ourLord)deliversfromthis,certainlyweshallbeofthethankful(SuraAna’am,6:63)Thisdua’ashouldberecited toobtainprotectionofAllahwhencalamitiessurroundyou,having

totalfaithinHispower,withfirmdeterminationthatyouwillalwaysthankyourLordforsavingyoufromthecalamities

RabbanaaLaaTaj-a’lnaaMa–A’lQawmiz’Z’aalimeenOourLord,putusnottogetherwiththeunjustpeople…(SuraA’raaf,7:47).EverytruebelievermustseekAllah’shelptoavoidthecompanyofunjustpeoplewhonotonlydo

notbelieveinAllahbuthavegoneastraybynotfollowingtherulesandregulationsmadebyAllahtodirecttheirbehaviorinthisworld.

RabbanaaaAfrighA’laynaaS’abrawWaTawaffanaaMuslimeenOourLord,pouroutonuspatience,andmakeusdieasthosewhohavesubmitted(toYou).(Sura

A’raaf,7:126).

Ifhardship,povertyanddiscomfortcomeinyourlife,youasafaithfulservantofAllahmustrecitethisdua’atohavepatienceandselfcontroltoremainfirmontherightpathandfacethemisfortunesboldly,withoutevershowinganyactionthathasbeenprohibited,sothatyoumayleavethisworldasatrueMuslim,submittingtothewillofAllah.Agroupofmastermagicians,on the invitationofPharaoh,came to show their superiorityover

MusabecausePharaohwronglythoughtthatMusawasalsoamagician.Themagiciansthrewafewropesonthefloorandtheytooktheshapeofsnakes.Musaputthestaff,hewasholdinginhishand,ontheground.Thestaffchangedintoapythonandswallowedupthesnakes.Pharaohgotangryandthreatenedto

killthem.WhenthemagicianscametoknowthatMusawasnotamagicianbutaprophetofAllah,andwhattheysawwasamiracleofAllah,theylaughedatPharaohandrecitedthisdua’a.

نیمحارلا محرأ تنأو كتمحر يف انلخدأو يخألو يل رفغا بر

RabbighfirLeeWaLi–AkheeWaAdkhilnaaFeeRah’matikaWaAntaArh’amurRaah’imeenOAllah,forgivemeandmybrotherandadmitustoYourmercy,Youarethemostmercifulofthe

merciful.(SuraA’raaf,7:151).

Atruefaithfulmustalwaysrecitethisdua’atoseekmercyofthemercifulLord,particularlywhenheisinthemiddleofunmanageabledifficulties.To receive the Tawrat Musa climbed the mountain of Toor and observed fast for 30 days, as

directedbyAllah.Musanoticed thatonaccountof fastinghismouthwasstinking, sohe thought itimproper to pronounce the glory of Allah with a stinking mouth, and brushed his teeth. It wasconsideredanactofdisobedienceandhewasrequiredtoobservefastfortenmoredays.After40days,MusacamebacktohispeoplewiththeTawrat,buthefoundhispeopleworshipping

Recitethisdua’aagainandagaintotakestockofyourmistakesandfaultssoastoavoidtheminfuture,and toseekAllah’sprotectionandforgivenesswithfirmdetermination thatyouwill liveanhonestandpiouslifetodeserveHismercy.AccordingtotheHolyQur ’an,Musachoseofhispeople70men,whoinsisteduponseeingAllah

with their own eyes, for an appointed tryst on the mountain. As soon as they reached there, atrembling cameon them.All the 70menwere destroyed.ThenMusa recited this dua’a to beseechAllahtohavemercyonhimandonthepiousamonghisfollowers.

WheneverAllahrevealedtheversesoftheHolyQur ’antoHislastprophetthehypocritemenusedtoaskeachotherhowcouldtheseversesofAllahbeofanyusetothem?InthisverseAllahsaysthatHismessengerwasverykindtohisfollowersandwasanxiousnotto

overburden them, he was full of pity and mercy. When they turned away, Allah asked the HolyProphettorecitethisverse.Thisdua’awasrecitedbytheHolyProphet.We,hisfollowers,mustalsoreciteittoputouttrustin

disbelievingpeople.(SuraYunus,10:85-86).

WhenMusaobservedthatnonefromamonghispeople,saveafew,trustedhim,becausetheywereinfearofPharaohandhischiefs,headvisedthemtoputtrustIAllahiftheyhadindeedsurrendereduntoHim,thentheyrecitedthisdua’a.Wemust also recite this dua’adaily to remain firm inour faith and to seekprotectionofAllah

fromtheharmofourenemies.

WhenNuhcametoknowthatAllahwasgoingtodestroyallthathadbeencreated,bydrowningthewholeworld,except thosewhocameon thearkbuiltbyhim,headvisedoneofhis sons todo thesame. His son refused and told his father that he would climb a high mountain, but waves likemountainscameandhewasdrowned.NuhcrieduntohisLordandsaidthathissonwashishouseholdandthatsurelythewordofAllah

cametruebecauseHeisthemostjustofalljudges.Thisdua’aistoberecitedalongwithanyotherprayer(dua’a)whichisrecitedtoseekfulfillment

oflegitimatedesires.

andunlessYouforgivemeandhavemercyonme,Ishallbeofthelosers.(SuraHud,11:47).

When Nuh said the words, mentioned in dua’a 22, Allah replied to him that his son was awrongdoerandwhatAllahknewNuhdidnot,soheshouldnothaverelieduponhisignorance;andNuhimmediatelyrecitedthisdua’a.Wemust also recite thisdua’a tohave full faith in thewisdomofAllahunder all goodandbad

circumstances becauseAllah is all-knowing; and humbly seekHis help to keep ourselves and ourchildrenontherightpath.

pass.(SuraIbrahim,14:41).Prophet Ibrahim recited thisdua’a to seek forgivenessofAllah forhim, forhisparents and for

thosewhobelieveintheoneandonlyAllah,becauseHismercyalonewillkeepallbelieversawayfromthefireofhellonthedayofjudgement.A high ranking Prophet, Ibrahim, also known as KhaleelulLaah (close friend of Allah), has

includedhisparentsinhisdua’a.Thesunnah(wayoflife)oftheinfallibleProphetsisaguidanceforus.Itisobligatorytoloveourparentsandrespectthembecausethroughthemwearebroughtintothis

world.Allah,whoprovidessustenancetoall,hasselectedparentstogivelivelihoodtoallthatwhichhavebeencreatedbyHim.SonexttothealmightyAllahweoweeverythinginourlifetoourparents.Theytakecareofusfromthedayweareborn.Theybringusupwithloveandcare.ItisawellknownfactthatAllah,inHisinfinitemercy,hascreatedloveofmother,tokeepalivethe

circleofcontinuouslifeonthisearth,andbecauseofthisitissaidthatparadiseliesunderthefeetofthemother.Loveofparents for theirchildren is thedivinewisdomthroughwhichmankindandother living

beingshavebeensurvivingformillionsofyearsonthisplanet.Innowaywecanrepayourparentsforwhattheydoforus,exceptbyfollowingthecommandofAllahwhoaskus,intheholyQur ’an,tolower unto themourwings of submission through compassion and recite this dua’a and the dua’amentionedin28.

immediately after giving birth without ever nourishing the child, Imam Jaffer binMohammed asSadiqsaidthatsubsistenceofachildinthewombisenoughtomakethechildfeelobligatedtohisorherparents,andprayregularlytoseekAllah’sblessingsforthem.Wemustmentionagainthatbesidesourownobligation,itisthecommandofAllahtogivehighest

form of respect to our parents, to talk to them politely, even to sit with them and to talk to themisIbadat(actofobediencetoAllah),tocarryouttheirorders,tolovethemandtotakecareofthemintheiroldageandasdirectedinverse23ofBaniIsra’ilnottosay(even)“uff”tothem,norchidethem,buttosaygentlewordstothem;andabovealltoprayforobtainingmercyofAllahforthem.Salat,sawm,dua’asandallothergooddeedsofdisobedientchildrengowastebecauseAllahdoes

notbestowblessingsanddoesnothavemercyonthosewhodisobeytheirparents.

parents,andtodogoodthatshallpleaseYou,andadmitmebyYourmercy,amongYourrighteousservants.(Suraan-Naml,27:19).Once Prophet Sulayman with his armies of men, jinn and birds, was marching to a battlefield.

Whentheyreachedthevalleyoftheants,anant,seeingahugegatheringofmenandjinn,warnedallother ants to enter their dwellings lest Sulayman and his armies crush them, because of theirnegligence.HearingthisSulaymanthankedAllahandrecitedthisdua’a.We must recite this dua’a to thank Allah when we get His favours and bounties, or when any

occasionofhappinesscomesintoourlives,becauseShaytanleadsustoprideandarrogance,ifweachievesuccessinourworkandhavepowerovermenandmaterial.

RabbiInneeZ’alamtuNafseeFaghfirleeOLord,verilyIhavewrongedmyself,soforgiveme.(Suraal-Qas’as,28:16).OnenightProphetMusaenteredthecityofPharaohsandsawthattwomenwerefighting,onewas

fromhispeopleandtheotherwasanenemy;hewenttothehelpofhisfollowerandhittheothermanwithhisfist,whichkilledhimonthespot.Realisingthatitwasnotagooddeed,herecitedthisdua’atoseekforgivenessofAllahandtoaskprotectionfromthecertainrevengetheEgyptianswouldtakeforkillingoneofthem.Recitethisdua’atoadmityourshortcomingsandtoseekforgivenessandprotectionandprotection

ofAllah.Thisdua’awillprotectyoufromtheevilofyourenemies.

RabbiNajjineeMinalQawmiz’Z’aalimeenOLord,delivermefromtheunjustpeople.(Suraal-Qas’as,28:21).Thisdua’awasrecitedbyProphetMusawhenhefoundtheconditionsinPharaoh’slandunsuitable

tostaythereanylongeranddecidedtomigratetosomeothercountry.To avoid the cruelty of oppressive rulers; or at the time of leaving your home to escape

persecution, recite this dua’a to reach safely at a safe place, for a permanene or for temporaryasylum.

people.Ifwearelivingamongcorrupt,debauchedandimmoralpeople,whoarebeyondreform,thisdua’a

shouldberecitedtokeepourselvesalooffromthetemptationsofthevulgarandsinfulsatanicsocialsetup.

RabbiInneeLimaaaAnzaltaIlayyaMinKhayrinFaqeerOLord,verilyIhavenedofwhatYouhavesentmeofthegood.(Suraal-Qas’as,28:24).AfterleavingthecityofPharaohs,ProphetMusareachedMidainwherehefoundawholetribeof

menwateringtheirsheep.Hesawthattwogirlswerekeepingbacktheirflocksapartfromthosemen.Onenquiringhefoundthatastheirfatherwasaveryoldmantheyhadtowaittilltheshepherdsgoaway.Musaimmediatelywateredtheirflockforthemandrecitedthisdua’a.Afterwardsthefatherofthe

twogirlswhowasalsoaprophet,hiredhimandgavehimlandtotill.LaterMusamarriedoneofthetwogirls.Recitethisdua’awheneveryoudoagooddeedbecauseAllahcertainlygivesustherecompenseof

whatevergoodwedo.Itisalsosaidthattogetalawfulprofitableoccupationinanewcountryonemustrecitethisduaa’a.Thisdua’acanalsoberecitedatleast7timesaftereverywajibsalat.

RabbiHabLeeMinas’S’aalih’eenOLord,grantmearighteous(son).(Suraas-Saaffaat,37:10).Saraah, the first wife of Ibrahim, was childless, therefore, she gave Haajirah as a gift to her

husband,whomarriedherandrecited thisdua’a,so thatAllahmightgivehimasonfromthenewwife.Prophet Ismailwasborn toHaajirah, andAllah alsogave a son,Prophet Ishaq, to him fromSaarah.

whodogoodfromamongtheirfathers,theirwives,andtheirchildren;verily,Youarethealmighty,theall-wise.(Suraal-Gafiiroral-Mu’min,40:8).Thisdua’aisthecontinuationofdua’a53toinvokeAllahtomakethebelievingmenandwomen

him indeed You have bestowed mercy, and that is a great achievement. (Sura al-Gafiir or al-Mu’min,40:9).Thisisafurthercontinuationoftwodua’as53and54toseekprotectionfromAllahfromtheevil,

becausewhomsoeveriskeptsafefromtheevilwillbetakenintoHismercyonthedayofreckoning.Deliverance from the fire of hell on the day of judgement is the best achievement for the faithfulservantsofAllah.

thisdua’a,becausehismotherbearshimindiscomfort,andgivesbirthunderpainfullabour,andtheybringupthechildwithloveandcaretillheorshebecomesstrong.AllahhasmadeobediencetoparentsobligatoryandtheHolyProphetsaid:“Allahishappywiththosewhoobeytheirparents.”Recitationofthisdua’ahasbeenmadecompulsorybyAllahforthechildrentoseekprotectionand

mercyfortheirparents.(Pleasealsorefertothenotesofdua’as27and28).Themost important thing to give thanks toAllah for the favours andbountieswe receive from

Him,therefore,recitethisdua’aafteranywajibprayerdaily.

RabbiAnneeMaghloobunFantas’iir.(OLord),verilyIamovercome(bythosepeople),sogivehelp.(Suraal-Qamar,54:10).WhenProphetNuhwascalledmadbyhispeopleandhadbeendrivenout,hecrieduntoAllahand

recitedthisdua’a.Recitethisdua’awhenyouaresurroundedbyenemies,oradversecircumstanceshaveputyouata

disadvantage.Beginthisdua’aonThursdayandrecite2060timesbytheendofthenextThursday,andrecite 100 times after every wajib salat till you are free from the evil of enemies, or adversecircumstances.

grudgeinourheartsagainstthosewhobelieve;OLord,verilyYouareKindandMerciful.(Suraal-Hashr,59:10).Allahsaysthatthosewhocomeintofaithmustnotenvytheirbrotherswhowerebeforetheminthe

faith,butseekforgivenessandmercyforthemselvesandtheirbrothers-in-faith,andinvokeAllahtocreateloveandunderstandingamongthemall.WheneverweinvokeAllahforHismercyandforgivenesswemustalsoincludeinourdua’aallthe

returning.(Suraal-Mumtahanah,60:4).Faithshouldneverbeallowedtobecorruptedevenfor thesakeof thenearestrelatives(parents,

wifeorchildren),saystheHolyQur ’an,andgivestheexampleofProphetIbrahimwhodiscardedallhisfamilymembersexcepthiswife,hisnephewandafewotherswhoweretruebelievers, toshowthattherewouldbehostilityandhatebetweenthemuntiltheybelieveinAllah,andrecitedthisdua’a.PutyourtrustinAllahaloneandturnrepentanttoHimbecausewewillonedaycertainlygotoHim

forreckoningandthenHismercyandforgivenessalonewillkeepusawayfromthefireofhell.

things.(Suraat-Tah’reem,66:8).TheHolyQur ’ansaythatonthedayofjudgementtheHolyProphetandthosewhobelievedwith

him,will occupy the highest status, and their lightswill run before them, and theywill recite thisdua’a.IbnAbbassaidthatthecompanionsoftheHolyProphetinthisverseareImamAliandhisfriends

whowillrecitethisdua’a.

RabbibniLeeI’ndakaBaytanFil-JannatiOLord,buildformeahouseintheGarden.(Suraat-Tah’reem,66:11).ToallbelieverstheHolyQur ’angivestheexampleofAsiya,thewifeofPharaoh,oneofthefour

chosenwomen,whorecitedthisdua’a.AlthoughshewasneartotheworstenemyofAllah,Pharaoh,whowatchedherdayandnight,yetshegatheredcouragetofollowtherightpathandsavedProphetMusafromtheevildesignsofPharaoh,whenMusawasjust-bornbaby.ShealsoacceptedthetruefaithofAllahbywatchingthemiraclesofAllahthroughwhichHekept

safeMusafromtheevilschemesofPharaoh.Shepreferredgoodinthehereafteroversuccessinthisworldandwantedahouseinparadise,whereshewouldliveforever.
