Writing a match report

You need to have your completed Quidditch sheets ready to refer to

Learning Outcomes:All pupils will be able to elaborate on basic information

Most pupils will be able to develop our descriptions using adjectives

Some pupils will be able to develop their ideas – remembering to consider the purpose and audience

With the person next to you, label yourselves A and B… you have 10 seconds to do this…

Bias – what is it? Bias is giving favourable prejudice to one side over

another – can you think of an example of bias?

Two school newspapers are going to report on the Quidditch match we watched last lesson. How do you think these two papers will report the match?

Headline – Think of something exciting! Who was playing? Do we know any of the players on either team?

What was the game for?

What happened first?How can we make the action sound more interesting?

How did the match end?

What was the final score?

A’s will be writing for the Gryffindor Lion

B’s will be writing for the Slytherin Serpent

Remember: This match report will be getting assessed – think about presentation, adjectives, connectives as well as full stops and capital

letters
