What is Zscaler?

Zscaler is a web-filtering service that will replace the current SINA (myinternet) web filtering.

It will provide schools with the tools required to manage web access.

Getting started

Your focus is to implement rules to ensure that the users within your school are accessing

appropriate websites and secures them as per your school’s acceptable use policy.

General Information

Usernames

Usernames have to be in the format of a email address; e.g. jsmith@your_School_Domain_name

The Active Directory needs to be compiled.

1) Login to the Zscaler admin portal for your site. URL: https://admin.zsclareone.net UN: siteadmin@your_school_domain_suffix PW: xxxx

2) Navigate to the Administration > Backup & Restore Policies

3) Select “Edit” > “Create restore point” > Then name the restore point. Note: Choose something that is relevant that you will recognize at a future date.

4) > Select “Done” once complete

5) Select “Done” again on the “Backup & Restore Policies” page

6) You should now be able to see the restore point you have just created along with any other restore points that may exist for your portal

1) Log into the Zscaler portal and navigate to the “Administration” > “Backup & Restore Policies” tab

2) Select “Edit” > then select the “Backup-Restore” icon on the backup point you wish to restore your configuration to

3) You will receive the following warning message, select “ok” if you wish to proceed

4) When you see the banner saying “Success”: Data has been restored from Restore Point.” Select “Done”.

5) Your portal has now been restored to the configuration of the restore point selected.

• Liaise with the school technician to ensure that the active directory records are accurate and up to date

• Review Cybersafety policies and procedures in light of this new web filtering service

• Have procedures in place for monitoring of the network
