Dear Friends, Welcome to Bible Center! If you’re new here, you’ve chosen a great Sunday to join us.
First,todayisChildDedicationSunday.Forthethirdtimethisyear,we’veset
asidesometimein the service to prayforourlittleones. You’llnoticethree aspects to today’s dedica-tion:parentsdedi-cate their children to God, parents devote them-selves to God, and we, the church
family, commit to support these parents. (If any of the parents on the stage look especiallytiredtoday, feelfreetoofferthem a special word of encouragement or take them to lunch. You may become their hero!) Furthermore, this morning marks the launchofourChristmassermonseries:Extraordinary.Let’sjourneybackintimeand look at ordinary guys like Zechariah, who experienced an extraordinary bless-ing. Next Sunday we’ll get to know Eliza-beth, an ordinary mom with extraordinary
faith. On December 18th we’ll survey the lifeofaforgottenChristmascharacter,Anna, an ordinary widow who showed extraordinarysacrifice. Finally, atallChristmas services, we’ll gaze upon Jesus, the ordinary baby in the manger who was (and is) our extraordinary God! Many perceive Christmas as an enchanted season, but it's helpful for us to remember it had ordinary beginnings. Come join us for this 4-week series as we walk through the Gospel of Luke (chapters 1 & 2), and see how Christmas relates to everyday life in extraordinary ways!
For the city,

The Christmas Card Offering stands as one of the unique holiday traditions at Bible Center. Over the years it has funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to important, effective, and sometimes unusual global outreach projects.
Jack and Suzie Russell, rooted in WV and a part of the Bible Center family, have spent the more than 10 years translating the Bible into Simba Guarani. This language is spoken by about 9,000 people in about 65 very remote villages in Bolivia, South America. Many have been saved, but many more are hungry to hear the good news.
H e r e ’ s t h e p l a n
Our goal is to accomplish four things:1. Provide a used 4-wheel drive vehicle in order to better access
more of the villages using roads that barely exist. ($20,000)2. Distribute the new translation to those who’ll
have the Bible in their language for the first time. ($10,000)
3. Purchase a portable bakery oven to allow one of the converts to conduct a business to support him and his family while he engages in full-time evange-lism. ($1,400)
4. Support a circuit riding (driving) preacher for a year. ($3,600)
Your offering can be sent with a Christmas Card to the church, offered online at the photo booth in the Gathering Space, or placed in an offering basket with a check marked CCO (Christmas Card Offering).
Let’s pray God will enable us to do a great work in one of the “uttermost parts of the earth.”Note: As always, any excess funds collected for this project will be used for
Bible Center purposes at the discretion of church leadership.
Christmas Card Offering 2016
The work of Bible Center in our city, and outreach endeavors around the world, depend on our contributions. December is usually the month in which offerings are the highest and the budget is built with that in mind. Here is some helpful information about giving as we approach the end of 2016.
The generous offerings from the people of Bible Center Church enable wonderful ministries to be accomplished for the glory of God.
GENERAL TITHES& OFFERINGSRegular gifts fuel all BCC endeavors. It’s how we keep the lights on, support our global outreach, children and student activities, pastoral ministries, worship services, and all that we do as a church. The cumulative total of contributions
budgeted for the general fund in November and December is $853,000. This is a lot more than the normal amount for two months and represents a significant challenge. God will help us.
BUILDING FUNDOver the years this fund was known by different names, most recently FAST FORWARD. It is the
account from which we pay our monthly mortgage. The good news is that the mortgage payment was recently reduced from nearly 25% of our annual budget to less than 20%. But the dollar amount is still significant. In November and Decem-ber our budget calls for $281,000 to
be received in this account… another large amount, but God, through us, can do it.
GENEROSITYSUNDAYIn conjunction with the sermon on December 18th, we have designated
the day as Generosity Sunday. At the end of the service we will give our offerings together, as a church family, in an effort to finish 2017 strong. Please pray about what the Lord might have you give on this special day.
