Dear mem-bers and friends, What a month we just had! Talk about a
“baptism by fire” for me and our new officers. We hosted the Utah Elks Association State Convention the last weekend in April and it took a great team to make it run smooth as silk. Lots of work and preparation went into it and I really want to thank everyone that volunteered and helped out during those three days. Everyone worked really hard and did a great job. Gary Nelson stepped up at the last minute and made sure everything came together so much thanks to him. The food
was fantastic—so thanks to Tammy Beck and her kitchen team. The bar ran smooth —so thanks to Alisha Lusk and her bar staff for doing what they do best and with a smile the whole time. Thanks to Troy Young and Amanda Young for working many hours moving furniture and keeping the place clean the whole time. They were amaz-ing. Also thanks to everyone that helped with registration, gift baskets, decorations, the memorial service and Sherry Thomas for being our “go to gal, shuttle driver.” All of these people made my job so easy and I am forever appre-ciative and thankful for them all. Best part of Saturday night was the announcement that
our own Tennille Siemer won the UEA Officer of the Year award and Gary Nelson won the UEA Elks of the Year. They certainly deserve this honor and it was fun getting to surprise them both. The officers had their first ini-tiation this month also and they did a great job. I think we were all a little nervous, but we did it and I know we will get better with practice and time. Wednesday Steak Night’s will continue through the summer so please come down and support the kitchen if you can. It is a great meal for a great price. Hope to see you soon.

Dear Ladies & Elk's members We had are first meeting for the new year and it was very fun. We had pot-luck which is always a good meal and we also had some guest speakers from Addict's to Athletes. They talked about their organization and the 20 mile relay race they did for their fundraiser.
Now we are on a break for the summer and will resume our meetings in September. In September we would like to try having our dinner upstairs and prepared by the kitchen staff. This would mean that we would have to eat at 6 pm so we can go downstairs for meeting at 7pm. We are only trying this out and see if it would work. It might help the lodge to and the person in charge of meeting won't have to make dinner. More about this in August. June 29th is our yard sale. Hopefully we can do it in the parking lot at the lodge. If you have anything you want to donate keep us in mind. Don't bring it to the lodge until that week of the sale or let me know and I can come and get your donation. Call me at 801 318 0646 and leave a message. Hope everyone will have a great summer. Respectfully submitted Nora Carter LOE President

Veterans Corner The Veterans Auxiliary is making ground breaking history at Provo Elks Lodge. Our Auxiliary is in the process of creating a Veterans Auxiliary funding account, we heartily welcome Matt Graham as our Treasurer! This will afford us the opportunity to be able to respond more quickly and efficiently to needs of Veterans & families in crisis. We are currently creating a team to identify and respond to Service projects for Veterans & families. Yard cleanup, painting, etc. If anyone has knowledge of a Veteran or their family in need of help please contact the Auxiliary. We are always looking for Volunteers to assist, we love cash donations, but there is no substitute for “sweat labor” Thank you in advance. We are donating to the Bennion Nursing home, and also the Provo Elks Lodge Golf tournament at Skyline resort. Several opportunities are in the near future to associate with our “Heroes” Bennion Nursing home Memorial Day Car show. Hill field Golf Tournament. Horse riding at Spanish Fork. Casino Night, in process Prayers for Art Richardson, speedy recovery from eye surgery. We want to thank everyone for supporting the Auxiliary and our Veterans & Families.
