P.G. Courses:
The University offers post graduate courses in 12 subjects as given below. The course
duration is 02(Two) years consisting of 04 semesters under Choice Based Credit System
(CBCS) pattern.

2. Eligibility for Admission for P.G. Courses 2019-20 :
Only Women Candidates can apply as follows:
• Biotechnology: 45% of marks secured in Honours in Biotechnology/ Botany/ Zoology/
Environmental Sciences/ Microbiology/ Bioinformatics/ Genetics/ Biochemistry/ Life Sciences at
graduation level.
• Computer Science: 45% of marks secured in Honours in Computer Science/ Information
technology/Information science and Technology/Information technology and management at
graduation level or Bachelor in Computer Application with 45% marks in concerned subject
• Life Science: 45% marks secured in Honours in Botany/Zoology/ Life science at graduation
level.
• Industrial Microbiology: 45% marks secured in Honours in Micro Biology/ Botany/ Zoology/
Bio-Technology/ Bio-Chemistry at graduation level.
• Hindi, Odia, English: 45% of marks secured in Honours at graduation levels in concerned
subjects.
• Economics: 45% of marks secured in Honours in Economics at graduation level.
• Gender Studies: 45% of marks secured in any Honours subject (Arts, science, commerce) at
graduation level.
• Commerce: 45% of marks secured in Honours in Commerce at graduation level.
• Home Science: 45% of marks secured in Honours in Home Science at graduation level.
• Education: 45% of marks secured in Honours in Education at graduation level.
N.B.: Those who have passed the Three-year Degree Course Examination from a University / Institution
where provision of teaching in Honours does not exist, will be eligible to apply for P.G. courses provided
they have passed the examination in the concerned subject with minimum of 8 papers carrying at least 800
marks, subject to the fulfilment of the minimum eligibility condition. (45% in the concerned subject)

3. Reservation of Seats:
For all the courses reservation of seats will be as follows:
A) As per the Government of Odisha Notification No.HE-PTC-SAMS-0006-2017/10161/HE
Bhubaneswar dated 07.04.2018 following reservation principles will be adopted:
22.5% of seats shall be reserved for Scheduled Tribe students.
16.25% of seats shall be reserved for Scheduled Caste students.
The seats reserved for SC & ST are not interchangeable. In case of non-availability of
applicants / candidates in one of these categories, seats will be filled up from the candidates of
General merit list.
SC/ST caste certificates, issued by Revenue Officers, not below the rank of Tahasildar/
Additional Tahasildar are to be produced
B) 5% of total number of seats in each subject will be reserved for (PWD) students with extent
of disability not below 40% (blindness and low vision, hard of hearing, locomotor disability
including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular
dystrophy, autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness)
C) 1% of the sanctioned seats shall be reserved for Self/ Children /Wife /Husband of Ex-
Serviceman, Serving Defence Personnel & Children of Martyrs.
D) Sports
I. One seat of the total seats is reserved for the candidate who has represented in the
international sports event during the last 03 years.
II. Those who have represented the state during last three years at National level sports shall get
10% of marks over and above the aggregate career marks.
NB-Sports events, approved by the Indian Association of Universities, will only be considered.
Sports Certificate must be countersigned by the Director of Sports and Youth Services

4. How to apply online:
Application Fee: PG: Rs.500
Candidates are advised NOT to use mobile phones for filling up Online e-Admission form in
order to avoid possible mistakes, University will NOT be responsible for any wrong entries.
Availability of online application form: 22.05.19 to 10.06.19
Date of entrance test: 25.06.19, 26.6.2019 and 27.06.19
Submission of Hard copy with requisite documents
in the University office: on or before 03.07.2019 (By
Registered/Speed Post Only)
Important Instructions to all students for online Application
The candidate has to register online for appearing the entrance examination and taking
admission to P.G. Programme.
Application Procedure A. Pre-Registration Requirement
The Following documents must be made ready before starting the Application
process.
Scanned copy of your recent passport size photograph in JPG Format from 30KB-
100KB in size.
Scanned copy of your signature in JPG format from 30KB-100KB in size.
B. Registration Process:
Step1: For Registration, the candidate should have a valid & active Mobile Number
and also have a valid & active e-mail ID.
Step2: For registration please click http://rdwuniversity.nic.in/candidate-
registration.html (New User Registration) and provide the relevant data in
appropriate fields.
This will take you to the Registration page
Select Course Applied for from the dropdown list.
Select Department from the Department dropdown list.
Select Subject from the Subject dropdown list.
In the Name field write your Full Name as per your HSC (10th) certificate.
Enter a valid & active Mobile Number and email ID, which will be registered for
the entire admission process.
In the D.O.B field, enter your Date of Birth as per your HSC (10th) certificate by
selecting through the Calendar.
Now click on the Register button to get yourself registered. You will receive an

OTP in your Mobile Phone and email ID.
Provide the OTP to validate your registration and proceed for the Payment.
C. Payment Procedure:
Payment of Application Fee can be done through MAKE PAYMENT Link. Payment can be
done online through Net Banking/ Debit Card using SBI E-Pay. After successful
payment through Net Banking/ Debit card using SBI E-pay you will get an e-Receipt
generated immediately from the System containing a reference number.
After making a successful payment you will receive Login ID & password
on your Mobile Phone and email ID immediately. In case you have not
received the same, e-mail may be sent indicating your Application Id and
Date of payment of application Fee to helpdeskrdwu@gmail.com
After getting Login ID and password please visit
to http://rdwuniversity.nic.in/candidate-login.html to fill up the prescribed
application form.
Submit the application form online, after filling the form completely,
If your Result is awaited, the PRINTOUT of application form cannot be
generated.
Edit option will be available for entry of +3 final degree marks only to
those candidates who have registered on or before 10.6.2019. They
can update +3 final degree marks till 02.07.2019 or 15 days after the
publication of +3 final degree result of Rama Devi Women’s University
whichever is later.
After that the candidates can take PRINTOUT and submit the Hard
Copy of the Application with required documents on or before
03.07.2019 to reach the University office by Registered post/ Speed
post only.
Send the filled in print out of the application form with your signature along with
all the relevant documents as mentioned in next page.
Each Applicant (who has paid the application fees) will be intimated
through SMS and email to download the admit card for entrance test in due
course of time.
Each Applicant has to bring a valid photo ID proof at the time of entrance
examination.

5. SUBMISSION OF HARD COPY:
The applicants are required to send the hard copy of application along with the following
documents by registered post/speed post only in a A4 size envelope addressed to:
The Chairperson, PG Council, R.D. Women’s University, Vidya Vihar, Bhubaneswar,
751022 so as to reach at the University office on or before 03.07.2019 by 5 PM. The University
will not be held responsible for any postal delay.
The applicants are required to write “Application for admission to the P.G. Course in
_____________ subject” on the top of the A4 size envelope.
Self-Attested photo copies of following documents are to be enclosed with the Hard copy of
application form at the time of submission, in the following order.
a. Certificates and mark sheets of 10th
, +2 and +3 Degree examinations /equivalent examinations.
b. ST/SC Caste Certificate, issued by Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tahasildar/
Additional Tahasildar.
● SC Certificate should be in the name of Applicant.
● In case of ST Candidates the Certificate may be in the name of Candidate or her Father.
c. PH/PWD Certificate issued by CDMO/SDMO/CMO of Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
d. Ex-serviceman certificate (issued by Zilla Sainik Board)
e. Children of Martyr (CoM) certificate issued by District Collector.
f. Serving Defence Personnel (Army/Navy/Air Force) certificate issued by the Commanding
officer of the Unit.
d. Sports Certificate, approved by the Indian Association of Universities and countersigned by the
Director of Sports and Youth Services.
g. Migration Certificate, if the candidate passed from other University.
h. One recent coloured passport size photograph, to be fixed in the application form.
i. E-receipt of Application Fee.
NB: Your application will not be considered, if the hard copy of your filled in application form
along with relevant documents do not reach the University office in time.

6. Selection Procedure
a. Selection will be made on the basis of marks secured in the entrance examination and
the career mark from HSC to +3 level (As per eligibility criteria) taken together. Maximum
marks for career will be 60 and Entrance 40.

a. For CBSE 10th
mark sheet where letter and point grades are given the grade may be
multiplied by 9.5 to get the equivalent percentage of marks.
b. Career marks for Distinction will be awarded only if the distinction is mentioned in the
certificate.
c. In case of a tie, first consideration will be Honours mark & next the aggregate mark
in +3 Degree to break up tie.

Entrance examination is compulsory for PG Admission.
7. Level of question:
1. UG level honours of respective subject except Gender Studies, Life Science, Biotechnology and
Industrial Microbiology.
2. For PG in life Science question will be from honours level of Botany, Zoology & Life Science.
3. For PG in Industrial Microbiology question will be from honours level of Microbiology, Botany,
Zoology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry.
4. For PG in Biotechnology question will be from honours level of Biotechnology, Botany,
Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Biochemistry and
Life Sciences
5. For PG in Computer Science question will be from honours level of Computer Science,
Information Technology, Information Science and Technology, Information Technology and
Management and Bachelor in Computer Application.
6. For PG in Gender Studies question will be Gender related and from General Knowledge.
Question Pattern for entrance test:
a. Multiple choice questions (MCQ) with 04 options.
b. Each question carries 01 mark
c. Duration 01 hours.

8. Documents to be required at the time of P.G. Admission:
a) Original Certificates & Mark sheets of 10th
, +2 and +3 degree examinations/ Equivalent
Examinations.
b) Original College Leaving Certificate and Conduct Certificate from the Institution last
attended.
c) Original Migration certificate (for students from other University)
d) Original Blood Group Certificate
e) Three self-attested recent coloured passport size photographs.
f) Original Caste Certificate in case of ST/SC candidates, issued by Revenue Officer not below the
rank of Tahasildar /Additional Tahasildar.
g) For ST candidate, her father’s caste certificate may be taken into consideration.
h) PH/PWD certificate/ID should be issued by District Welfare Officer / Community Development
Officer / Social Welfare Department of State Government Officer or certificate issued by the CDMO/
Chief Medical Officer, Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
i) Sports event, approved by the Indian Association of Universities, will only be considered for
reservation. Sports certificate must be countersigned by the Director of Sports and Youth Services.

12. General Information:
1. In case of any doubt regarding the authenticity of documents produced, the same will be forwarded
to the DIG, Crime branch, Bhubaneswar for scrutiny.
2. Application without copies of certificates in support of reservation / relaxation of dues will not be
considered for the same.
3. Suppression of facts/submission of incorrect information of the applicant, if detected at the time of
admission or thereafter, will render the selection/admission invalid.
4. Incomplete application in any form will be rejected.
5. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited. Each applicant has to furnish an undertaking in this
regard.
6. Indiscipline in any form in the Campus or in Department or in Hostel will not be allowed. This may
lead to rustication from the University.
7. Students must come to the campus in proper uniform.
8. Students must abide the University Rules, Department Rules, Hostel Rules (For Boarders) and
other such rules enacted from time to time by the University.
9. Examination: In order to be eligible to appear at the University Examination, a students has to
secure at least 75% of attendance and a student having attendance between 60% to 75% will be
permitted with Medical Certificate.
10. Correspondence regarding Admission: All correspondence (with application id number) in
connection with P.G. Admission should be addressed to the Chairperson, P. G. Council, R. D. W.
University, Vidya Vihar, Bhubaneswar, 751022.
11. Under no circumstances, the application fee is refundable. Each applicant has to submit the
application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) separately for each application.
12. If an applicant takes TC within the admission period, Rs. 200/- will be deducted towards
processing charges from the amount paid at the time of admission and the rest amount shall be
refunded.
13. If an applicant takes TC after closing of P.G. admission, the amount paid at the time of admission
shall not be refunded.
14. For self financing courses of P.G. if a candidate desires to take TC after closing of admission of
the said course, TC will be issued only after the payment of full course fee for the total duration of
the course.
15. Merit is the only consideration for selection into hostel
