The Urban Leadership eXchange is a new professional development opportunity offered by the University of Toronto through the Institute for Management & Innovation (IMI), IMI Executive Programs (IMIx), and the Master of Urban Innovation (MUI). Co-sponsored by the University of Toronto’s School of Cities, participants will be led by distinguished U of T faculty over the 1.5-day program and hosted at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus. At the conclusion of the program, participants will receive a certicate of completion.
Deepen Your Knowledge, Build Policy-Relevant Skills
Participants in the Urban Leadership eXchange will gain deeper knowledge and understanding of the ways in which the concept of urban innovation can be leveraged for economic development in the 21st century.
The objective of this program is to introduce, familiarize and train participants to consider the ways in which innovation, technological change and the shift towards a digital economy affords an opportunity to promote positive economic and social change in Canadian cities.
On completion, participants will have a stronger understanding of the need for intentionally designed public policy that supports positive public outcomes and addresses challenges associated with inequality that often go hand in hand with innovation and technological change if left unchecked.
Introduction
The program will appeal to professionals working in government, non-prot organizations and the private sector who have an interest in economic development, urban innovation, governance and policy.
