Project Idea: Detecting Falling Limbs

• Goal: Detect when an arm or leg falls off a support

• Barrier: Inattention to limb means people cannot detect when it is off the support.

• Description: Some sort of device that provides an automatic, (personalized) verbal and optionally haptic feedback when limb is displaced.

• Benefit: Reduce risk of injury, reduce constant manual staff reminders.

Project Idea: Detecting Shuffling Gait

• Goal: Detect when gait starts to shuffle and intervene to prevent a fall.

• Description: A device (or method) that detects shuffling gait and provides a prompt to stop and reset the gait.

• Benefits: Enable independent walking.
