Prague (Praha)

Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. There is the river Vltava there. Prague is an old historical city with many touristic attractions. You can visit the Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, the Charles Bridge, the Petřín Lookout Tower and other attractions.

Prague Castle

Prague castle is on the hill. It is the largest old castle in the world. There are many buildings there. One of them is St.Vitus Cathedral. The castle is very old, its history starts in the year 870. Prague castle is the residence of the President of the Czech republic. There are many beautiful gardens around.

St. Vitus Cathedral

St. Vitus Cathedral is the biggest and most important church in the country. This gothic cathedral was founded in 1344 by Charles IV. The Bohemian crown jewels are there. During the 600 years it was built and rebuilt and finally it was finished in the year 1929. Everybody likes beautiful stained glass windows.

Charles Bridge

The Charles bridge is a famous historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river. Its construction was started in the year 1357 by King Charles IV. The bridge is 621 m long. The bridge is decorated by 30 statues of saints.

Petřín Lookout Tower

The Petřín lookout tower is a 63,5 metre high steel tower. It was built in the year 1891 and it is similar to the Eiffel tower in Paris. It is shorter than the Eiffel tower. There is a magnificent view from the top of the tower.
