Accommodations

Assigning Supports for ELPA21• Convene ELL or IEP committees to select

appropriate designated supports and/or accommodations

• Utilize the ELL Participation Form http://wvde.state.wv.us/federal-programs/ELPA.htm

to assist with the selection of the designated supports and/or accommodations.

Entering Designated Supports into the Online ELL Plan

• Access the online ELL Plan on WOW for the specified student and mark the appropriate designated supports as determined by the ELL Committee.

Entering Accommodations into the Online IEP Plan

• Collaborate with the district IEP Coordinator to ensure that any accommodations that have been assigned by the IEP committee are entered into the Online IEP.

Verification of Assigned Supports

• The Title III director should use the WVEIS WOW accommodations 14 Application to verify the selection of all designated supports and accommodations.

• Occur prior to the Pre-ID transfer on January 15.

ELPA 21 Interactive Demo• The purpose of the interactive demo is to provide

students a view of the testing environment.• Designated supports and accommodations will

not be assigned.• To apply the supports the testing administrator

will need to individually assign during the demo. • Districts need to comply with testing security and

privacy policies and procedures.

ELPA21 Assessment• Designated supports and accommodations

assigned through the online plans prior to the January 15 deadline will carry forward.

• Any modifications requested after January 15 will need to be issued manually within the Nextera testing platform.

Timelines• January 12 - Questar webinar that details interactive demo,

modules and administration• January 15 at noon – Title III directors will have entered all

designated supports and accommodations into the online plans.  They will have also reviewed accommodations 14 application to ensure that supports have been assigned.  All adjustments will need to have been made by noon. 

• January 15 – Interactive demos available from WVDE website. • January 21 - Updated administration site goes live and

registration window opens.• February 1 - Registration window closes. 

Points of Consideration• In accordance with Policy 2340, consult

with County Testing Coordinator regarding testing security training.

• WVS 326 form to be utilized for the monitoring of accommodations.

• ELPA21 excerpt from Participation Guidelines posted

Next Steps and Support• Collaborate with appropriate local

individuals to assign appropriate testing supports.

• Enter supports into online plans and review via WOW accommodations 14 application.

• WVDE will reach out to each district to provide technical assistance.
