PLANT PATHOLOGY

Plant pathology (also known as phytopathology) is the scientific study of plant diseases cause by pathogen and environmental conditions.

Miles Joseph Berkeley (1 April 1803 – 30 July 1889) was

an English cryptogamist and clergyman, and one of the

founders of the science of plant pathology.

BRIEF HISTORICAL ACCOUNT OF PLANT PATHOLOGY

For the past 50 years, the ability to combat plant diseases through the use of modern farm management methods, fertilization of crops, and pest control have made it possible.

SYMPTOMS OF PLANT DISEASES

Colour Change. Hypoplasia. Blight Burnt Appearance.Leaf Spots.Wilts.

The disease is first seen as elliptical gray-white

lesions.

Destruction of diseased

crop residue.
