What is Task Analysis?
• The process of breaking a skill down into smaller,
more manageable steps.
1. Separate laundry from dark and light
2. Load laundry into the machine
3. Measure the soap in the cap
4. Pour soap into washing machine
5. Close the lid of the washing machine
6. Select the normal setting
7. Press start to begin the cycle

picture prompts in increasing abilities to independently
complete tasks (Mechling & Stephens, 2009; Mechling & Collins, 2012).
