Kouvola’s Rail Road Terminal

• Our goal is to develop into a nationally and internationallysignificant logistics hub

– Our location allows a concentration of domestic freight traffic as well as easy connections towards Russia and Far East

– To Kullasvaara rail yard we will build an Intermodal Terminal, which canprocess maximum length Russian and Far Eastern container trains

• We are gradually expanding and developing the area taking into consideration the network of companies, which already form a significant concentration of warehousing, forwarding, terminal and other value-added services

• Kouvola’s role as the only Finnish core network terminal in the EU (TEN-T, i.e., Trans European Network terminal) will be emphasized and utilized actively in marketing and application of public funding

• Rail traffic’s collection and distribution center, operating all transport modes

• The first modern logistics center in Finland, filling international standards

• Last year the study of DGG (Deutsche GVZ-Gesellschaft) on Freight Villages in

Europe ranked our logistics centre as the best in the Nordic countries and 32nd best

in Europe (out of a total of 300 centers in 30 countries)

• New investment programme started in 2016. The future construction will be linked

to the current infrastructure and carried out in stages respecting the needs of

enterprises. New Intermodal Terminal will be ready in 2020

• The current terminal can handle one whole train per day or ca. 30 000 – 50 000

TEU per year

• Public-Private-Partnership > organisations are committed to efficient execution of

the project

• The area is open for all operators
