8New York State Department of Transportation
• Effectively move people in faster, safer, and easier ways by improving the existing roadways, bridges, public transit bicycle paths and pedestrian walkways including improvements to the Bruckner-Sheridan Interchange, local arterials and improved access into and from Hunts Point Peninsula.
5
9New York State Department of Transportation
• Reduce the number of accidents in the area and increase pedestrian safety at busy intersections such as Bruckner Blvd and Hunts Point Ave.
10New York State Department of Transportation
• Support economic development by providing easier access into and out of Hunts Point Peninsula, while eliminating bottleneck conditions.
6
11New York State Department of Transportation
• Enhance the quality of life by reducing the volume of commercial trucks on local streets and easing congestion for motorists traveling through the area. Consider environmental enhancing amenities to mitigate existing and project related impacts.
