Think On These ThingsBy Reverend Juanita G. Wingo
All GraceBut the God of all grace…after ye have suffered a while,
make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.I Peter 5:10
Blessings come from many sources, but God is the sole source of all grace.
When the burden becomes too much, all of God’s grace is at your disposal.
When you want to turn your back and walk away from it all, all of God’s grace is at your service.
After you’ve suffered a while, all of God’s grace will come like a flood to settle your wondering mind.
Why God? How long God? What about…God?
We have so many questions about our circumstances, our situations, our future, our lives, and our loved ones.
But all grace is ever present to restore order, to renew your mind, to transform your spirit and to settle you in a new order.
These are turbulent times. We are tossed to and fro by vicious waves, buffeted by contrary winds, and knocked to our knees by forces we cannot expect. Just when you think you’ve found your footing, something else comes along to keep you off balance.
Yet all grace abounds. All grace will ground you and settle your heart.
All grace is more powerful than many blessings.
The God of all grace has called you to walk in his light, partake of his glory, and to be like him.
When you have nothing else, God’s grace is sufficient. You can ask God for more grace.

Poem of Life
Life is but a stopping place,A pause in what’s to be,
A resting place along the road,to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay...Our destination is a place,Far greater than we know.
For some the journey’s quicker,For some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally ends,We’ll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,Together with the Lord

The 6th Annual Juneteenth Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 11:30 am-5 pm at Watkins Regional Park, 301 Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774. This is a FREE family event open to the public, and will be held rain or shine.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond. Marking the date that the last enslaved people learned of their freedom, the month of June and the nineteenth day were combined to form the word Juneteenth. Juneteenth is an official holiday recognized in over 40 states and the District of Columbia.
The Juneteenth Celebration offers culturally inspired dance and musical performances including traditional African dance with contemporary military movements by Taritibu Youth Association, urban dance moves by Savage X. A variety of musical selections by Nolan Wilson and the Voices of Inspiration, Upton Blues Band, Black Notes, Sudden M Pac and Mainouna Youssef will stir the soul.
The M-NCPPC’s Black History Program, the National Children’s Museum, African
American heritage groups and exhibitors, will both educate and entertain visitors. Families will enjoy face painting, the interactive playground at the park as well as the animals at the Old Maryland Farm. Visitors can also ride the miniature train and Carousel, and play mini-golf all day for a special Juneteenth discounted fee of $5. There will also be several vendors selling a variety of food.
From 8:30 am - 4:00 pm the Watkins Nature Center will again host the Afro-American Historical & Genealogical Society, Inc. and their partners who have planned a series of exciting lectures and workshops on African American genealogy and history. These sessions are designed to be of interest to both beginning and advanced researchers, as well as those interested in family genealogy. Pre-registration is preferred, but not required. To register for genealogical workshops visit http://pgcm.aahgs.org/juneteenth, or call Carolyn Rowe at 301 292-2751 or Jane Thomas at 301-292-1207. The Uhuru Quilters Guild will also host an African American Quilt exhibit. The Guild has exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian, the Miller Office Building in Annapolis, Maryland, the University of Maryland and now they will exhibit in the Watkins Nature Center open to all Juneteenth visitors. For information, call 301-627-2270; TTY 301-699-2544.

About Robyn Scates
Robyn has always known that her life was called for a higher purpose. At an early age, she dedicated her life to Christ and finding that purpose. By that age of 7, her
passion for helping others inspired her to seek a career as an attorney. She knew that being an attorney would allow her to further her passion for protecting the welfare of others. In fact, it is that very passion that led her to an accomplished career in law and business development. And it is that same dedication that roused awareness in her and, in many ways, guided her most fulfilling venture as a motivational speaker, minister, life coach and author of her first book Bringing Peace Into Your Inner Sanctuary.
Robyn simply cares about God’s people. She has spent her life uplifting and inspiring youth and adults to reach their full potential. You but have to look at what she’s done for proof of that. She is a minister, the Founder and CEO of PROUD1, a non-profit that teaches businesses, adults and youth how to be successful in business and everyday life; a life coach; a professional trainer; the general counsel and vice president of Corporate Governance and Chief Diversity Officer for a national nonprofit and she is the sole practitioner for Scates Legal Group. All of that and, somehow, she still finds time to give back to the next generation of legal minds as an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore and Morgan State University.
One might wonder how she is able to do it all. Robyn will tell you that it hasn’t
always been so easy. She learned to juggle it all after finding a way to “bring peace into her inner sanctuary.” She knows, from experience, that only through the grace of God and finding inner peace can one really endeavor to do meaningful things for others. That’s why she’s a sought after voice and trainer on the subject by churches, businesses, national organizations, having recently been a featured guest on CBS Radio in Washington, D.C. where she shared personal insights on finding peace and engaged to host her own radio show called the “Motivational Cheerleader” on Radio 1’s WOLB 1010 AM on Sundays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Robyn serves as Trustee for Everlasting Fellowship of Faith; on Boards for the University of Baltimore, Hoffberger Center for Professional Ethics, the Mobile Shoebox; as former president of the Alliance of Black Woman Attorneys and she has been, twice, named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women by The Daily Record.
Robyn holds a BA in Political Science, Juris Doctor, and is currently working on her Ph.D. She has been married for two decades and, together, she and her husband Terry have two sons.
Would you like Robyn to be your personal or professional coach or speak at your next church or corporate event? Aleysha Proctor’s work as an author and speaker has been called inspiring, a breath of fresh air and as so many have said, “It was just what I needed!”
“I’m so pleased that my work has been used to bless and encourage others – that’s what God has called me to do. I’ve just released my fourth book, and my fifth book, “Good News in a Bad News World”
will be out in the summer of 2013. I’ve received so many testimonies from the people who have read my books or heard me speak, and it blesses my soul,” Aleysha goes on to say.
Here are a few of the testimonies:“With Style & Amazing Grace is a book that should be at every women’s conference and re-treat!”- pastor Maureen alston, shield of Faith christian center, Md“WHAT AN OUTSTANDING BOOK! Aleysha has outlined how you can live a simple but fulfilling life in “With Style & Amazing Grace”. She gives her personal and biblical principles that adhere to everyday challenges women and men face daily. I have met the Author and she is truly a woman with a great deal of
style and a spirit full of Grace. This book is a must have for your personal library.”- amazon.com reader“I was on my way to the emergency room when I grabbed my copy of “Jazz, Java & Jesus” to help keep my spirits high. I was worried about what the doctors were going to tell me and this book helped to get me through that very tough experience.”- ella curry, entrepreneur & blogger“Jazz, Java & Jesus”, although listed as a devotional, is so much more. I found Ms. Proctor’s writing style engaging and personal. She starts with a forward that
explains how the title of the book came about, and then settles down to deliver a nice message with each entry. Each entry is thought provoking with quite a bit of scripture, and will start you off to want to continue on studying your Bible. At the end of each section is a place for notes - a very nice addition to the book!! One of my favorite sections concentrates on the names of Jesus and I’m planning on spending a lot of time on that section. Another nice bonus are the puzzles at the end of the book. This is a wonderful book and I will be using it a lot in the future. Unlike other devotionals that I’ve tried that sit around on my shelf collecting dust, this one will be written in, creased, and will probably find a coffee stain or two before I’m done using it.”- tweezle reads blogExperience Aleysha’ ministry by inviting her to speak at your next church function, prayer breakfast, combined fellowship, women’s conference or retreat.
