NEW PIAZZA FOR PIEVE Dl CENTO
During my time in Italy, my studio collaborated with
engineering students at the University of Bologna to
create a new piazza for Pieve di Cento. The master plan
was completed with eight of my fellow classmates. Our
individual building schemes were then sent to the
students of the University of Bologna to create further
drawings. The collaboration was awarded 3rd place in
"Urban Promo Giovani 2011," an urban-architectural
contest organized by the lstituto Nazionale di Urbanistica.

My fourth-year studio did extensive research to explore
Islamic architecture and Egyptian building traditions. In a
three-week long schematic design process, I chose my own
site in Cairo and developed a new madrasa (school) for the
surrounding community.
SEASIDE CHARETTE
My fourth-year studio visited Seaside, Florida
and met with founder, Robert Davis, and
participated in a week-long charette project to
design a new house for the quintessential New
Urbanist community. We did site documentation
during our trip and had a week to come up with
our individual designs.

The Notre Dame School of Architecture takes particular
interest in improving our surrounding city of South Bend.
"The Wharf" is a vacant site along the riverfront
downtown that has so much potential. We studied the
surrounding neighborhoods in depth and this design is an
effort to use a mixed-used development to revitalize the
area. My site plan is focused on making the area more
pedestrian-friendly and community-oriented. A developer,
responsible for the site, assisted my studio during the
design process.
