Showing Appreciation to our Volunteers, Parents and Sponsors
Dr. Mark Porterie, Superintendent of Schools
On behalf of the PAISD Board of Trustees, staff, students and parents, we
want to thank you for every second, minute, hour, day, week, and month
that you have given to the PAISD. Since the last time we met, there have
been many unexpected occurrences. Never would we have thought that we
would have experienced flooding that would devastate our entire community. Our commu-
nity experienced a shock that most certainly would have destroyed most areas, but
not our community. After we were able to regain our thoughts, we were able to start re-
building our community. Our community experienced devastating destruction but rather
than have a “woe is me” attitude, we chose to display a “how can I assist others” atti-
tude. Even those who were homeless were assisting their neighbors. We in the PAISD know
that some of you who are sitting with us today are still homeless, but that did not stop you
from coming and volunteering your precious time with the boys and girls of the
PAISD. Some of you had to address tragedy at home, hold down your jobs, and that still did
not stop you for carving out time to come and give of your time, energy, finances and most
of all your cheers and motivation that you shared with us. Your untiring and unselfish love
for our students and staff will never be forgotten. You have shown love and patience
throughout this unusual year and never wavered with your time and dedication. We salute
you and we are proud that you are not only a part of our community, but most importantly,
a part of our PAISD family.
Sincerely,
Mark Porterie, Ed.D.
