Porcelain VeneersOur veneers are wafer thin ceramic shells, individually designed to
cover your teeth, giving you a healthy, natural look that enhances
your smile. We only produce natural feeling aesthetics, whether for
correcting minor enhancements for a few teeth or creating a full
smile makeover. Due to their long lasting natural tooth appearance
and minimal preparation, porcelain veneers are often the treat-
ment of choice for our patients.
Veneers allow you to change the appearance, colour, shape, size,
position, rotations, texture, lustre and form of teeth. They are often
the treatment of choice when your teeth do not require significant
restorations or large amounts of dentistry and are used in smile
makeovers to enhance the way your teeth look. However, they can
also be used as part of a treatment plan that incorporates other
proceedures like porcelain crowns, bridges and implants. This is
very common option for people who have different types of
dentistry in their smile but who wish to have a more uniform smile
with teeth that match each other.
COSMETIC DENTISTRY WITHOUT DRILLING IS NOW THE WAY
FORWARD
A type of porcelain veneer can now be created that involves none
or minimal tooth preparation to produce stunning new smiles
called Ultra Thin Veneers. They can be used in a smile makeover,
a smile mini makeover or for an individual tooth. These veneers
are often 0.2 – 0.4mm thick yet they are strong, long lasting and
natural looking.
New innovations and cutting edge technology within cosmetic
dentistry has meant this conservative approach can be used by
those looking for a new smile makeover with minimal intrusion of
the tooth.
We can custom create your new smile for your front teeth in
combination with Smile2SuitU. A technique that allows us to create
teeth within a smile that looks absolutely natural.
What areVeneers?VENEERS ARE A QUICK WAY TO A BEAUTIFUL SMILEVeneers are very thin layers of composite resin or porcelain which are fixed directly to the teeth to create a perfectly
shaped, natural smile with whiter and stronger teeth.
Each veneer is shaped and applied individually, resulting in a completely personalised new smile. In as few as two
appointments you can have your veneers designed and fitted and ready to go. If you choose immediate veneers you can
even be ready in one appointment.
WHY CHOOSE DENTAL VENEERS?
Dental veneers can treat a whole variety of dental issues such as:
• Gaps between teeth
• Worn and chipped teeth
• Gummy Smiles
• Fluorosis (patches on teeth)
• Crooked teeth
• Discoloured teeth
NO-PREP, NO- PAIN VENEERSThe London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry offer the latest range of “no-prep” or minimal preparation veneers from top
brand Zeneers. They are incredibly thin and require very little tooth preparation and are bonded directly to teeth.
Immediate veneers are best for fast results and can usually be fitted in a single visit and are the most affordable option.
Advantages ofPorcelain VeneersThe concept behind veneers is extremely simple: If a patient has discoloured or stained, uneven, or just unsightly or
unattractive teeth, we can cover them up with a customisable paper thin, attractive porcelain veneer quickly and
affordably with long lasting results. One of the reasons that veneers are so popular is due to their flexibility to cover up
a multitude of dental problems including gaps between teeth or chipped teeth.
They have a further advantage of not changing colour over time improving and maintaining the look of your smile with
a whiter teeth that looks both attractive and natural.
OTHER ADVANTAGES OF DENTAL VENEERS
• They protect your underlying tooth substance
• They cosmetically enhance the look of your teeth
• You can change the colour of your teeth
• You can have a single veneer or more depending on your cosmetic needs
• You can give crooked teeth the illusion of being straight
• They are more conservative than porcelain crowns
• They can produce an instant change in appearance
The process The process of having porcelain veneers involves the following stages:
1. Examination and assessment to decipher which type of veneer will work best for you or whether an
alternative treatment would be better suited
2. Depending on the type of veneer and the objectives of your treatment the dentist will design the
treatment plan for your new smile
3. Records and diagnostics are then taken and sent to the laboratory - this step is not necessary for
immediate and prefabricated veneers
4. The veneers are hand crafted using a vast range of colours, textures, translucencies and strengths in the
laboratory by a professional ceramist
5. The dentist then uses adhesives to bond the dental veneers to your teeth
When creating veneers the dentist “prepares” the teeth before taking any records. The term “preparation” signifies the
amount of tooth cutting involved. Some types of treatments like Ultrathin veneers require no tooth cutting compared
to the traditional veneer work where sometimes preparation was necessary. Sometimes “preparation” simply means
roughening the surface to enable better bonding to occur with the adhesives. Depending on your teeth your dentist will
discuss which type of veneers will be most suitable for you and also what type of preparation will be involved.
The newer cosmetic veneers include Ultrathin Veneers, Durathin Veneers and Lumineers which involve no drilling and
hence no injections since no tooth is being cut. These are extremely comfortable to have done and form long lasting
solutions for you.
