Problems with the Polepick Salvage Sale
1. Polepick Mountain has steep, sandy, unstable soils that are sensitive to salvage logging.
2. Salvage logging would remove trees and vegetation that stabilizes slopes.3. Old skid roads added to the flood damage and costs.4. Debris flow potential was not adequately considered during planning.5. Salvage logging will increase the likelihood of future debris flows.
