PMC PlusProviding adaptive, relevant legal instruction for life
2020 Offerings
About UNSW EdgeIn an increasingly complex market, UNSW Edge knows that legal practitioners, executives and consultants need to keep evolving to stay ahead. Being equipped with skills for the future will enable legal practitioners to continue to provide quality services to their clients and broader community.
UNSW Edge is an evolution of the Faculty’s Centre for Continuing Legal Education (CLE). For the past 25 years the Centre has provided continuing professional development (CPD) courses to the legal profession.
Why complete PMC Plus? PMC Plus is a distinctive program designed for legal practitioners practising in New South Wales who wish to move to the next stage of their career by seeking to satisfy the removal of Condition 3 imposed pursuant to s 53 of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW) and Rule 16(b)(ii) of the Legal Profession Uniform General Rules 2015 from their practising certificate.
The course conforms with the Practice Management Course Guidelines for New South Wales published by The Law Society of New South Wales and has been designed for legal practitioners, that have at least two years of supervision. The course is not limited to any particular type of practitioner. The flexible delivery of the course equips legal practitioners with future-focused content in a format that is accessible for busy practitioners.
Once PMC Plus has been completed, UNSW Edge will notify the Law Society of NSW directly and, only then, will condition 3 be removed from the relevant practitioner’s practising certificate.
Program structurePMC Plus is designed to take a learner approximately 30 hours. The course is made up of three components: online modules (19.5 hours), three webinars (3 hours) and an intensive day program (7.5 hours).
The Leadership Electives offer learners an opportunity to obtain an additional Leadership micro-credential by completing a Leadership Intensive and/or Leadership Coaching.
