EDITORIAL
The picture on the front represents a marvellous effort by the people of Cherry Willingham and their friends. Sandra Gardner launched the ‘Fish’N’Chip’ babies appeal and so many took it to their hearts and put lots of TLC into their knitting and over 700 little jackets have been presented. Reporting on such deeds gives quite a fillip to the job of Editor even though the industry has been by you. Anyway, enough said by me as it is covered elsewhere. Just WELL DONE. CHERRY AND FRIENDS,
CHRISTMAS-FAIR
It seemed frantic in its preparation but all of a sudden the tents were up and we had a bustling atmosphere. Quite a few village organisations took advantage and agreed on the day that they were doing well. The atmosphere was enhanced somewhat by the fairground organ of Mr Alan Williams who had offered his services for free for the village. This gave it an ambience of the traditional village fete rather than the indoor scattering of the previous event at the Community School but weather dependent. Although a little muddy underfoot, the weather was kind, cold but dry. We had the medical support of LIVES throughout the period of the Fair and we were introduced to Helen Booth who lives in Reepham and who is the Responder for Cherry Willingham. There are 3 more under training and Helen will submit a report on activities and pictures of the four so we may recognise them should the need arise. The Fair was rounded off by a joint blessing by Revd. Penny Green and Revd. Alan Swann and the singing of three carols by the gathered assembly.
I would like to thank, on behalf of you all, the Cherry Tree Community Syndicate (CTCS) for its support for the Cherry Sports Association throughout the year and for raising money for the Football Club and Junior School. I am trying to get a wide range of interests represented by the newsletter which is why I have included an appeal from a local drama group for more involvement both in thespian terms and practical involvement in the production of the dramas. (see page 9)

FISH ‘N CHIP BABIES
I have been overwhelmed by the response to the article and pattern which
was printed in the magazine. Over the period I have received over 700
jumpers which will be forwarded on to Loving Hands, the charity which
will take them, to be distributed to the areas where they are needed. This is
not just Uganda but other parts of Africa, Cuba, some Eastern Bloc countries,
Sri Lanka etc.
Many, many thanks to everyone who has knitted or helped, I couldn’t do this
alone. It is a sign of what can be achieved when people unite
together . Keep knitting!!
BAPTISMS, WEDDINGS AND FUNERALS
No weddings, funerals or baptisms to announce this month.
Remembrance Book Cherry Willingham Church now has a Remembrance Book. This is a book in
which can be recorded the names of those from Cherry Willingham and
Greetwell, whom we love but are no longer with us. The PCC have agreed a
criterion for a name to go in the book is as follows:
Those who have died and:
Who were resident in the village at the time of death
Had lived in the village at any point in their lives
Have a connection with the village e.g. through family living in
the village
Other applications outside these criteria should be made via Revd. Penny
Green and addressed to the PCC. Entries into the book will be made in 6
months time in order that they can be dated in chronological order, and then
updated every 3 months. There is no charge for the insertion of a name, but
you can make a donation to church funds if you choose. In order to complete
the relevant information, please complete the form entitled ‘Cherry
Willingham Remembrance Book’, copies of which are inside church, or
request the form via email to southlawres@virginmedia.com.
The Book will be displayed in church. Please note (because I am often
asked) that we try to ensure that the church is open every day between
9.30am and 4.30pm. If it is locked and you would like to go in, then contact
Revd. Penny.

Vicar’s Blog
New beginnings
New year, new things….. I guess that at the beginning of each year many of
us reflect on a new start, wondering what the new year will bring…. for some
I guess, 2012 will have brought nothing but happiness, for others, sadness and
for most, something in between. So some will be glad to see the back of 2012
and can look forward to a new beginning ……
For our group of churches, well I know that this year will bring change. When
I came here, I knew that at some point in the future the group of four churches
(Fiskerton, Reepham, Cherry Willingham, Greetwell) would become eight,
and indeed it looks as though that will happen in September of this year, as the
Revd. Robert Spaight retires from his post in Barlings, Langworth, Sudbrooke
and Stainton by Langworth. That will present us with some challenges.
Obviously it will have an impact on the times and type of services that we can
offer, and it will also have an impact on the context in which we do baptisms
and weddings. We are having to think through what we can actually do with
the resources we have, and think of how we grow new resources at a time of
change. I am acutely aware that change brings a certain nervousness and
feelings of insecurity. However, change also brings opportunity to look at
things differently and to ask questions – are we doing this well? Can we do it
differently? For me, in our churches, why are we doing what we are doing –
what is God saying? That is a key for me. It is tempting sometimes to think
that I am ‘in charge’ of the church – yes, I have responsibilities- but, this is
God’s church – and I am accountable to God for it. I was told recently of a
colleague who loved being a Curate and hated being a Vicar because of all of
the responsibilities, he woke up one morning and said to God, ‘how about you
be the Vicar and I’ll be the curate’ - and that is how it should be - it is God’s
church!
So, this will be ‘a year of change’. I am always reassured in these situations
that God is our rock, a firm foundation and one we can trust, and because of
that I am confident that with God’s help and with some visionary thinking, we
can serve our parishes and continue to proclaim the good news of the gospel,
we just might do it differently!
I just want to add my thanks to everyone for the fantastic display of baby
jumpers produced by the ‘knitters’ of Cherry Willingham and way beyond. I
don’t think we ever imagined that over 700 would come flocking in! The
display in church was wonderful and it was great to be in a church full of
people on Sunday 13th to celebrate. Thank you particularly to Sandra Gardner
for the vision and the leadership to get everyone knitting! A brilliant job!
Every blessing for 2013. Penny

Parish Council Matters
An important date for your diary! The village’s Annual Parish Meet-
ing will be held on the evening of Monday 18th March at the Community
School when CW2020, the Community led-plan, will be presented. Other
items on the agenda will be an explanation of the council’s strategy for the
production of our Neighbourhood Plan (a legal planning document which
will help us implement some of the village’s aspirations as indicated in the
CW2020 Plan) and an update on developments regarding the running of
the Youth Centre. Village organisations are also invited to present or
submit a brief report. Please come along and hear about what has been
happening in the village and find out what residents have said they want to
have happen in the future.
Do you know an unsung village hero or heroine? An individual who
willingly gives up their time to assist fellow residents in whatever ways
they can? Someone who makes a consistent, positive difference to our
community? Maybe they help run village clubs or groups or are simply a
good neighbour to many. If so, why don’t you put them forward to be
considered for receiving The Stead Community Award 2013?
This annual award was established by the Stead family in memory of their
father, Albert Stead, who was very active in village life. The aim is to
express publically our appreciation for a resident of Cherry Willingham,
who has made a valuable, voluntary contribution to the quality of life in
our local community.
If you know an individual whom you feel deserves the award in 2013, you
are invited to submit a written nomination, detailing their achievements, to
the Parish Clerk by 12 noon on 15th February. You will need to obtain
their permission first and we will need your details, in case we need to
check anything with you.
The members of the Parish Council will select a winner, who will then be
presented with the Award at the Annual Parish Meeting on Monday 18th
March. Please note: every year the Council receives a number of
nominations but can only choose one person to receive the award. If you
put someone forward in the past who was not selected on that occasion,
you are very welcome to re-submit your nomination again this year. If
you need more information, please contact the Clerk.

Parish Council Matters continued
Are you interested in owning an allotment? The Parish Council has
recently received a formal request from 6 residents to consider the
provision of allotments in our village. The Council does not currently own
any suitable land but is duly exploring various options. It would be helpful
to know the likely demand, so, if owning an allotment is something you
might be interested in, please let the clerk know by the end of the month.
Equally, if you own any land that would be suitable and would be prepared
to lease it out then please also make contact.
The Library Board has indicated they are willing to consider the idea of
CW Library being run in the future by a Community Partnership. They
have agreed to consult with residents and to involve the Parish Council as
they explore and cost the options available to them, but we anticipate that
this will be a long, slow process…….
In January, a combined basketball and football goal plus a cycle rack
was installed at St Paul’s Play Area, the result of a collaborative process
with the young people at the Community School during 2012. Several
members of the Parish Council, the CW2020 team and other residents were
involved in a number of citizenship days with the year 9’s; one of the
topics was the provision of youth facilities in the village. Various groups
came up with potential projects, from which the Council chose the basket-
ball/football goal idea. We are delighted to have received a £3000 grant
towards the cost of this from District Councillor Anne Welburn’s share of
the WLDC Councillor’s Initiative Fund.
Next Parish Council meeting: Mon 18th Feb 7.30pm Millennium Hall.
The agenda is published on the Parish Council noticeboard near the library.
Residents are welcome to raise issues briefly at the start, but Councillors
cannot enter into discussion at this point and you cannot speak once the
formal business is under way, although you are welcome to stay. Only
business on the published agenda may be dealt with at the meeting, so it is
often better to raise issues with the clerk 2 or 3 weeks before the meeting
to allow entry onto the agenda for discussion.
Contacting the Clerk: In person on Tuesdays (10-11am) and Thursdays
(11-12noon), by letter to the Millennium Hall, by email at
cwparishcouncil@gmail.com or by phone on 01522 753398 (answerphone
available).

In March 2011 we set out to produce a Community-Led Vision and Plan for
the future of the village looking towards 2020. In the months since we have
l i s t en ed to yo ur wi sh es f o r t h e v i l l age ’s f u tu re .
Based on what you told us we offer a summary vision: “Building on all that is
good about the village and community now, our vision is: to create a
friendlier, greener, safer, healthier place to live; with enhanced facilities and
services which meet the needs of all residents; supported by a volunteering
community, vibrant voluntary organisations and partnerships and strong
relationships with other agencies whether statutory or charitable.”
Over recent months we have written a Plan with suggestions for delivering
this vision through partnership and volunteering. The draft Plan is now being
evaluated, checked and prepared ready for printing. We will then present it at
the Annual Parish Meeting (APM) on the evening of Monday 18 March -
see Parish Council news. We hope that you will come along and hear how we
can al l contr ibute to del ivering our shared vis ion.
Copies of the Plan will be available at the APM and it will accessible via the
parish web-site.

Thank you to all residents who have cut their hedges back to the line of the pavement in recent months, we would like other residents to do the same if their hedge is obstructing the pavement. With winter now here, we wish to remind you to properly salt paths covered in ice and not to use hot water which can refreeze and cause further problems. Additional grit bins have been obtained and these are located at: Lime Grove, Cedar Ave, Ladymeers Road, Fern Grove, and Hawthorn Ave. There have been some incidents of inconsiderate parking in the village. Please do take care where you choose to park to avoid inconveniencing others.

Now that the New Year is here our pre Christmas
activities are fast becoming memories and we look
forward to new experiences in 2013.
The end of November saw members spend an
afternoon browsing the shops of Horncastle before
meeting up at Myers teashop. During December
members attended a Christmas concert at Waddington, a Carol service at
Harmston and joined in Christmas festivities with Nettleham and Fiskerton
WIs as well as enjoying our village Christmas celebrations.
Our own Christmas meeting was quite lively as the business part of the
meeting was followed by an excellent session with Pete O’Brian, a
professional musician, who brought with him a wide variety of rhythmic
instruments and encouraged us all to have a go and accompany him as he
played his guitar and sang traditional Christmas songs and hits from the 60s.
The evening finished with a Faith supper, the wine and table decorations
being supplied by the committee. Jane Jordan and Anne Goodenough were
joint winners of the competition for a Christmas Jingle.
At our January meeting the speaker was Pat Mellows who told us about the
progress of Childline from Esther Rantzen’s 1986 initiative to the hugely
successful organisation it is today. Nowadays children can contact Childline
on line as well as by telephone, in fact last year nearly half of the
counselling took place on line. The three main topics are family relation,
bullying and physical abuse. There is always a queue to be counselled and
Childline’s aim is to answer every call which means that more money is
needed. Lack of money caused Childline to become part of the NSPCC in
2006 but we can help by donations, fundraising, spreading the word or even
volunteering. Pat’s talk brought home to us the misery and fear that many
children suffer and, as she said, all children have a right to a safe childhood..
We were pleased to welcome three visitors to our meeting and we hope that
they will join us again on 13 February when Stephan Novak, accompanied
his dog Grant, will talk to us about Guide Dogs. The competition will be a
dog ornament.

SCOTHERN PLAYERS NEED YOU!
Scothern Players are a well- established amateur dramatic group who put on
2 plays a year at Scothern Village Hall. We have a very loyal following and
usually sell out all performances.
We are a very friendly group with a reputation for encouraging new mem-
bers of all ages and abilities, not just to try their hand at acting, but also
directing, producing, stage management, front of house, technical etc.
We particularly need help with set – building: because the Hall is used by
many local groups, we usually have to build our sets during weekdays, so
have found that this means that retired people fit the bill perfectly!
If you have basic DIY skills and can spare some time, we would be
delighted to talk to you. Our performances are usually in May and
November, and set build normally starts 6 – 8 weeks prior to opening night,
depending on the complexity. We work as a team so there is usually
someone available to help.
We would also like to encourage anyone with technical skills to get
involved – we have good quality sound and light facilities and the ability to
control everything by computer. If this is an area you would like to know
more about we can arrange for you to shadow our technical director.
Being part of a successful am-dram group is a fascinating hobby: it can be
hard work, especially as we approach performance dates, but incredibly
rewarding as well – when the audience applause at the end of a show it is a
tribute not just to the cast, but the crew as well, without whom no group
could function.

Here is a review of the Cherry Willingham Army Cadets and what they have achieved over
the year of 2012. In February cadet SSgt Brammer, Cpl Asplin and Cpl Brammer got
selected to represent the Battalion in the inter-counties football competition at Colchester,
who, along with the other cadets from Lincolnshire, the Battalion went on to win the
competition without losing one single match at either age group, Our own Cpl G Asplin was
the star of the show! Also in February eleven other members of the detachment went on a
weekend to Beckingham to progress further in their training. Six cadets along with Sgt D
Brammer did ‘Bag Packing’ and raised over £1200 for our quartermaster who was taking
part in the London Marathon later on in the year. Four cadets attended their first Gold Duke
of Edinburgh Award (DofE) planning weekend, and Cpl Brammer took part in the Inter-
counties FA competition to which his age group won best team. March kicked off with four
cadets and two adults attending a 3 star training weekend on a very hard and wet weekend,
but they gained some valuable experience. SSgt’s S Brammer and L Wiles completed their
Senior Cadet Instructors course and Cadets Leadership Course over this period, gaining
very good grades. The battalion took part in the second Gold DofE planning weekend and
the UK football competition. The juniors, led by Cpl Brammer came 3rd in their group, the
seniors with SSgt Brammer and Cpl Asplin in their team were runners up only losing to
London ACF (who haven’t lost in 10 years). In April we took part in the spring adventure
training camp in the North Derbyshire, where the gold DofE group completed their practice
expedition and Sgt L Wiswould at long last completed her 3 star map and compass. Two
weeks later the detachment was back at Beckingham camp to carry out more cadet training,
and then the following weekend five of the cadets took part in the Battalion athletics. May
was a quiet month Sgt’s Trevor and Rachel Bridgwood did their Tug of War course and the
detachment took part in the open day at the castle for the Queens diamond jubilee. Sgt D
Brammer and Cpl Brammer went to London as they were given VIP tickets to watch the
concert. In June, twenty three cadets went on the field craft weekend, a very wet and
horrible weekend but the cadets stuck it out and came away with some very good results.
Five of the junior cadets took part in their practice bronze DofE expedition; it was quite a
shock to them! In July, Sgt’s Bridgwood and myself went to Cambridge to help out with
their open day, by taking down the 30ft climbing wall for them to use. The Gold DofE
expedition took part in the North Yorkshire moors, the cadets from Cherry were at the
forefront and completed the expedition all in one piece, they had covered 80kms in four
days carrying all their equipment. Our thanks go to Cllr Parrot who had given us £280
through a grant to buy some excellent rucksacks which made things that much easier. In
August eight cadets went on annual camp for a fortnight and had a great time doing a
number of activities they don’t normally get to do. In September six cadets took part in their
Cherry Willingham Detachment—1 Company

Football Club
Results have improved with a 2-2 draw at top club RM Imps and a 4-3
victory against second club Ivy Tavern which has moved us into the top half
of the league table
The Christmas break did us no good as we were beaten by bottom club
Fulbeck. This game brought our first red card of the season when we had to
play most of the game with 10 players and suffer a defeat we were not
expecting.
We still await a date to play our Village Trophy semi final game against
Metheringham. The Fixtures table was not available at the time of going to
Press.
The Annual Boxing Day charity game between the Oldies and the Young
‘Uns was an excellent very highly contested game with a good turn out of
both players and spectators. Again the Oldies triumphed 2-1 victory with
goals by Jim Taylor and Gary Jenkinson. The day ended with a get together
in the Cherry Tree where a raffle was run for the Sports Association for
which we thank those who donated Prizes. The players all made donations
which was for the Macmillan Appeal.

Cherry Willingham Gardening Club
Hello everyone,
With one month of the New Year already gone, we can now
look forward to more light, more warmth and, above all, more gardening.
But don't rush out to start planting and sowing outside, as the soil needs time
to warm, particularly after being sodden for so long.
To start off our Club season, our first guest speaker is Mr Harold Leach,
who will present a slide show entitled "Colour through the Year".
The meeting will be held, as usual, in the Church Hall on the High Street,
starting at 7.30pm.The date for your diary is Wednesday 27th February.
May I remind you about the forthcoming Village Fun Gala, which is
scheduled for 13th July, and will be held in the school on Hawthorn Road.
More information on this will appear in future editions if this newsletter.

who meet once a fortnight in the Millennium Hall High

very welcome. If you can't knit and would like to learn we
will try to teach you. After all, none of us was born able to
knit and had to be taught. In my case, I was in my thirties and am still
learning new techniques.
February Meetings are on the 6th and 20th.
Bronze and Silver expedition in the Wolds, and like most of the weekends, this year it
rained, but, once again to their credit, they soldiered on and passed, well done. In
November the detachment took part in raising funds for the Royal British Legion through
selling poppies. A total of £726.00 raised. Fifteen took part in the Remembrance Day pa-
rade at the cathedral. December saw the Christmas camp take place with again nearly all
the cadets going. On the 6th December I had the greatest of pleasure of taking four Ex
Cadets along with their parents to St James Palace to receive their Gold Duke of Edinburgh
Awards, this was the first time ever four cadets from one detachment had ever gone
through the complete syllabus, and I was so proud to be there to see it. The names of the Ex
Cadets David Butcher, Jordan Merrett, Natasha Chambers and Kirsty Ware. The New
Year is up and running now and we have a number of activities already planned for the

COUNSELLING
BACP Definition of CounsellingCounselling and psychotherapy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking
therapies. They are delivered by trained practitioners who work with people over a
short or long term to help them bring about effective change or enhance their
wellbeing.
In everyday life we are all presented with problems and issues, and at
times are unable to deal with them ourselves or solely by the advice of
well-meaning friends or family. I offer a friendly, patient and open
approach to counselling, working at your own pace. I can help you
explore the issues and allow you to understand and come to terms with
them.

SCOUTS & GUIDE’S PAPER COLLECTIONS: Sat 16th February
Please put out your newspapers by 7;30 am. (collected on the 3rd Saturday
in the month).
Our Scout and Guide groups have been very busy this term, fund raising and working on
Challenges and activity badges.
Our Autumn Fair raised £280.00, and we wish to thank everyone for their donations and all
those who attended to support us. During our Helping Hands project, our young people
raised £170.00 for school children in a remote village in Nepal.
We are all looking forward to our visit to the pantomime Dick Whittington at the Theatre
Royal in January.
There are currently 16 Scouts in the troop, 11 of whom are booked to attend POACHER
2013. This is an international Scout and Guide Jamboree held on Lincolnshire Showground
every 4 years. We welcome more than 8000 Scouts and Guides from home and abroad,
camp side by side, sharing activities.
Guides (18 girls) and Senior Section (3 girls) have started the year with a very packed
programme. They have been to London to see Shrek the Musical, to Sheffield shopping and
to see the guiding pop concert (they saw groups such as Scouting for Girls, Little Mix and
Lawson). Then at half term they went for a few days away at the Trusthorpe near Sutton on
Sea. They started fundraising in October towards new camping equipment with a Pampered
Chef evening which was well attended by friends and family. They are also planning to
attend POACHER 2013 next summer.
The Scouts and Guides will be fund raising for the food and costs for POACHER 2013 so
any donations would be very welcome!
The Cub pack is 21 strong and we have recently invested new members, some moving on
from Beavers and others who are new to Scouting. We are currently working on Christmas
projects.
Due to needing volunteers to help run the Brownies (40 in the pack), it was agreed that both
units would run at the same time so enabling all the girls to continue within Guiding. The
Brownies have had a few girls join them from Rainbows and have had some fun packed
activities during the meeting nights.
The Beaver Colony has 17 enrolled Beavers. We have had a term of making, doing and
having fun. Our District Sleepover at The Showroom in Lincoln was the highlight of the
term.
The Rainbow (18 girls) numbers have increased and they have had a very busy time at
meetings doing many activities towards completing one of their roundabout badges.

The Mothers Union were invited to Willow Court before Christmas to entertain residents with Christmas songs and carols. It was Gracie’s 90th birthday and Freda’s 89th birthday and what an uplifting afternoon it was. It was debateable who enjoyed it most, the residents or our members (including some friends too). The singing was a joy to hear and, of course, the afternoon ended with ’Happy Birthday’ plus tea and birthday cake.
The week of our meeting we are thinking about relationships. “Take time to reflect on the relationships which give joy and purpose to life. Pray for God’s blessing on those whom you love”.
Yet another reminder about St Benedict’s and find some rest and quietness to give you strength for more shopping etc. Look out for the board and enjoy the oasis of rest before you finish your shopping. We invite everyone to attend our meetings, Any queries about the Mothers Union contact: Anne Parker-(856588), or Ann Jones (751095) or any M.U. member.

Cherry Willingham Twinning Association The Twinners had a stall at the Christmas Fair, serving mince pies and
mulled wine (kindly made by Kay Cutler) and giving out information on
our Association. Many members had made family arrangements for New
Years Eve so there were not enough of us for our usual ‘do’ in the Church
Hall; instead some ten of us went to Margaret Muir’s where we played a
board game new to most of us, ‘Where is Moldavia’ (and if you know
you’d have had a head start!). Playing this, together with drinks and
nibbles, kept us nicely occupied until the customary champagne and ‘Auld
Lang Syne’ at midnight. A low key but very enjoyable evening.
On January 12th we had our AGM when the present Chair, John Bucke,
stood down after his three years in office, to be replaced by former joint
Secretary Terry Hancock – John will now do the job of Secretary. The first
job of the new Committee will be to finalise plans for the visit of our
French friends from April 27th to May 1st; if you would like to be involved
in that visit and have a lot of fun, contact Terry on 753239 or John on
595173.

Forget-me-not Club news
Members of the Forget-me-Not Club enjoyed several meetings leading up
to the Christmas period. A trip to the "Poacher Inn" for a very good lunch,
a most interesting visit to the local primary school where a choir sang many
seasonal songs for us and several talented pupils performed solo items. We
all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and the tea, mince pies and biscuits
which followed the concert.
The meeting in the week before Christmas saw us partaking of more party
food as we enjoyed our own Christmas party and a couple of members
entertained us. The first meeting in the New Year we welcomed a local
Lincoln man as our speaker. A retired pharmacist who lives in Nth.
Hykeham, Mr Don Scollick. kept us highly amused as he related various
episodes in his long and interesting career. A very talented and entertaining
speaker we all really enjoyed his visit, and hoped he might come again.
Mrs. M. Coates gave the vote of thanks, refreshments were served, and the
usual raffle was held.

Call 111 when it is less urgent than 999
What is 111? NHS 111 is a new telephone service being introduced to
help make it easier for you to access local health services. If you live in
Lincolnshire, you can now call 111 when you need help fast, but it isn't
a 999 emergency.
You can ring 111, 365 days a year, to reach a full range of local health
services, including out of hours doctors, community nurses, emergency
dental care and late opening chemists. Calls from landlines and mobile
phones are free -just like 999.
How does it work?
111 will get you through to a team of highly-trained advisers, who are
supported by experienced nurses. They will assess your symptoms and
guide you to the right local service.
Pharmacy Opening Times

If you wish to advertise please contact Editor 01522 751769 or email: keith.deeley@virginmedia.com
Wherever possible, the NHS 111 team will transfer you directly to the
people you need to speak to. If they think you need an ambulance, they will
send one immediately - just as if you had originally dialled 999.W
When do I use it? People should use the NHS 111 service if they need
help or advice urgently but it's not a life-threatening situation. You
should call 111 if:
• it's not a 999 emergency;
• you don't think it can wait for an appointment with your GP; or
• you don't know who to call for medical help.
For less urgent health needs, you should still contact your GP or dentist
in the usual way, and for immediate, life-threatening emergencies,
please continue to call 999.
Why should I use it? NHS 111 is a fast and convenient way to get the
right help -whatever your need, wherever you are, and whatever the
time. It can also help us to free up 999 and local A&E departments so
that they can focus on emergency cases.
What if I have already been given a number to call for a condition I
have? If you are already receiving healthcare and a health professional has
given you a specific telephone number to call when you are concerned about
your condition, please continue to use that number.
