Planning & Delivering Safe Work
Technology - ePermitting
10
ePermitting:
• A single hub for putting people to work safely
• Existing permits (e.g. permit to dig, confined space entry, electrical isolations etc.,) will not be part of the ‘Proscient’ permit system however it is proposed that they will be control points prior to the issue of the SWL permit.
• The system includes a visual map showing worksite and railway infrastructure
The RATs! • System is ICON and Prompt Driven
• System provides Improved Risk and Hazard controls management
• Differentiates Task risk and Operational Risk
• Grouped by Hazards e.g. Work on or near the line etc.,
• Proposed that all Tasks that take place on Network Rail line side infrastructure (fence to fence line incl.) will require a valid permit to work to be in place
• Modifiable by Safe Work leaders
• Cyclical templates will be available
• RAT Selection drives permit type
• Can be centrally updated / controlled so risk templates can be amended very quickly
Key Milestones LNE/EM & Scotland go-live = 31st October
