COURSE DESCRIPTION Participants in this workshop will review the cycle of risk management and response. This process includes a large focus on prevention strategies as well as de-escalation techniques. Post-crisis follow-up is also a necessary task of risk management and response. The ethical consideration and use of physical intervention are also taught for use as a last resort in order to maintain safety. The focus of this workshop will be on avoiding the need for the use of physical safety techniques in order to manage risk safely and effectively. You can log onto the CLC by first logging onto WebCentral.
The link to the Continuous Learning Center is: https://webcentral.fwps.org/ or you can access WebCental through the Federal Way Public Schools website (fwps.org). From the home page select “STAFF” and scroll down to select “WebCentral”
Next you might see a login page. Enter your user name and password (what you would use to sign on to a district computer) and select “Login”
Once you are logged in, you will see Tiles with different programs listed. Click on the one that says “CLC – Enroll now for classes that start after 9/30”
From the menu bar, hover your mouse over “Learning “ and select “Events Calendar.” You can search the calendar for the date of the class you are looking for, or you can use the filters on the left and put the title of the class in.
Once you find the class you wish to sign up for, click on the title and the class will open with the Training Details.
Click the “Request” tab and the class will be added to your transcript.
Go back to “Learning” and repeat to finish signing up for the classes you want.
This completes the process and these classes will be on your transcript of classes you are signed up for.
