• 5 pts per diagram– 2 pt proper diagram– 2 pt proper forces & variables– 1 pt proper assumptions

Combining Forces & Kinetics

• Understanding motion is really only accomplished once you can see how the forces interact with matter.

• Consider the following.

• Example: Old TV’s and computer monitors produce pictures by firing electrons into a screen. The viewers sees the electron as a light change and this creates the resulting image.

• TV Example: An electron with mass 9.1 x 10-31kg is accelerated from rest. Find the velocity of the electron if it experiences 5.8x10-15 N over a distance of 0.0035m.
