Our Concerns:

Less than half of all Americans have $1000 in their savings account. 3-6 months of expenses are needed as a cushion and all through life there are big ticket items you must save for as well: cars, college, buying a house, etc. Americans don’t save enough but the younger you start the more successful you can be!

Powhatan High School FCCLA Members to the Rescue!

Goal: Teach children in our Early Childhood Education Internships, Child Watch Program and Title 1 Family Nights about saving!

“Making Bank” Lesson Plan: *Read a book about Saving *Pose the Question *Do the Math and verify result *Create a savings vessel (bank) for students to take home
