74% of patients report having to repeat the same information to multiple HCPs, and

60% have also experienced repeatedly taking the same tests.

Many patients have yet to share data from connected technology with their healthcare professionals. (60% use this technology; device, app etc.)

56% of patients feel they have the right tools to manage their own health , but only 46% of HCPs agree.

There is concern over possible legal and reputation risks for HCPs in accepting data from connected care devices.

A majority of healthcare professionals and patients overall trust their national healthcare systems,

62% of developed market patients said they trusted their country’s healthcare system.However less than half (46%) of patients in emerging markets.

Cybersecurity Task ForceThe US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) formed a healthcare industry Cybersecurity Task Force To examine best practices; for keeping connected medical devices safe and secure.

Philips is one of only two medical device manufacturers to be invited to participate and is represented on the team. (by our Global Product Security & Services Officer)

Cryptographic Technology Philips is conducting research into blockchain technology in collaboration with healthcare professionals, to explore the potential use for securing the integrity, completeness and privacy of health records.
