Post on 14-May-2020
Dear Parents,
We hope all mums had a lovely weekend and were spoilt on Sunday. Thank you to the P&C who ran the
Mother’s day stall and the sausage sizzle after cross country.
Mrs Hardy will be away for the next fortnight due to a family issue, she is fine but will not return until
Week 5. Ms Stait will be on Kindergarten during this time.
NAPLAN
NAPLAN started well this week and students have completed 3 of the 4 assessments, with just Maths to
go tomorrow. Well done to all Years 3 and 5 who have tried hard to complete the NAPLAN to the best
of their ability. The new online test has presented a few challenges but overall the whole process went
well. The only written test was Year 3’s writing task which Mrs James administered in the Year 3 room
on Tuesday. Thank you to Mr Dickson who has set up and completed the remaining online tests with the
students.
External Validation
Our executive team completed our External Validation submission yesterday. A panel including a Peer
Principal and a PSL – (Principal Support Leadership) will now read our submission and attend a meeting
at our school on Tuesday 28th May. During this meeting they will discuss our submission and our
judgements against the School Excellence Framework. The work preparing this has been very worthwhile
and a wonderful celebration of just what our school has achieved. We do amazing work at Perthville and
our whole community should be very proud of our students, staff and parents. A great team indeed! An
abridged version of the final report was presented at last night’s P&C meeting.
Community Grant – Please vote from 15th July and spread the word
Thanks to Allan McDaid who has completed a submission on behalf of the P&C for an upgrade to the
bottom oval. This upgrade will include levelling, landscaping and irrigation and allow the oval to be used
for community access.
From 15 July to 15 August 2019, persons 16 years & over are able to vote for the projects they want
funded in their community. The projects can be viewed and voted for through Service NSW. Each person
can vote only once.
To do this, you will need a:
MyServiceNSW Account(external link) – to find out if you already have an account or to create

Girls Hockey Report
Unfortunately the girls’ hockey team was defeated by Orange Small Schools last week which means we
are out of the 2019 knockout. The score (5-1) was not a true reflection of how the girls played. They
tried their best and they were still very competitive throughout the whole game. Many team members
had never played a game of hockey before, so it was great to see them using the skills they had learnt
during training sessions and applying them in the game. Excellent sportsmanship was displayed on the day
and the girls made me very proud! Ms Naylor
Next P&C Meeting – Tuesday 11 June in 5/6 Room

Matilda by Roald Dahl
Is it on the Premier’s Reading Challenge

Yes
What is it about?
It is about a girl called Matilda who is only 5 years old
but an amazing genius. Her parents ignore her and she
gets a power from frustration.
Did you like it and would you recommend it to others? Why?
Yes, it is just as amazing as Matilda. It is very funny and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a
