Introduction to BFMP Test

• BFMP (Blood Film Malaria Parasite) as routine laboratory test to screen for malaria parasite

• Report malaria species and density count.

• There is a need to have a good slide preparation technique by clients, in order to have a proper result which closely reflects current patients’ status

• No staff from A&E was included, next round priority given to staff from A&E

• Majority of workload for BFMP came from A&E
