PROJECT INFORMATION
GENERAL NOTES
1. DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF ALL DISCIPLINES INCLUDED HEREIN
ARE GRAPHIC AND TEXT REPRESENTATIONS INTENDED TO ESTABLISH THE
FULL SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT AND THE FULL CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATION
OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO COMPLETE THE WORK SHOWN,
IMPLIED, AND SPECIFIED. IT SHALL BE THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S
ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY TO COORDINATE THE PROPOSALS AND WORK
OF ALL TRADES TO ENSURE ALL MATERIALS AND WORK REQUIRED BY THE
CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ARE INCLUDED IN THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S
PROPOSAL AND ARE ULTIMATELY FURNISHED AND INSTALLED IN THE
FINISHED PRODUCT, WHETHER EXPLICIT OR IMPLIED BY THESE
DOCUMENTS.
2. THE FOLLOWING PRIORITIES ARE ESTABLISHED WITH REFERENCE TO
DISCIPLINE COORDINATION
A. ALL PLUMBING WORK AND INSTALLATION SHALL BE COORDINATED
FULLY TO ALLEVIATE CONFLICTS.
B. NO TRADE WILL TAKE UNNECESSARY ADVANTAGE OF AVAILABLE
PLENUM SPACE OVER OTHER TRADES. RELOCATION OF ANY ITEMS
VIOLATING THIS PRINCIPLE SHALL BE AT THE TRADES' EXPENSE.
C. ALL STRUCTURAL DESIGN & DETAILING SHALL GOVERN OVER
ARCHITECTURAL GRAPHIC REPRESENTATION WHERE APPLICABLE.
D. ALL CIVIL DESIGN & DETAILING SHALL GOVERN OVER ARCHITECTURAL
REPRESENTATION WHERE APPLICABLE.
3. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ALL NECESSARY PERMITS
FOR CONSTRUCTION ON THIS SITE. IF PROBLEMS ARE ENCOUNTERED
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN PERMITS, THE ARCHITECT SHALL BE
NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY AND WILL ASSIST AS NECESSARY.
4. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO BECOME
FAMILIAR WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS APPLICABLE TO THIS
PROJECT PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS
ARE COMPLIMENTARY AND BOTH DOCUMENTS SHALL BE BINDING.
5. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO MAINTAIN A COMPLETE SET OF AS-BUILT
DRAWINGS AT THE JOB SITE. AS-BUILTS SHALL BE AVAILABLE FOR FIELD
OBSERVATION BY THE ARCHITECT OR ENGINEER.
6. THESE DRAWINGS ARE SCHEMATIC IN NATURE AND NOT INTENDED TO
SHOW ALL POSSIBLE CONDITIONS, PROCEDURES, OR METHODS OF
CONSTRUCTION. IT IS INTENDED THAT A COMPLETE BUILDING BE
PROVIDED WITH ALL NECESSARY EQUIPMENT APPURTENANCES, AND
CONTROLS, COMPLETELY COORDINATED WITH ALL DISCIPLINES. ALL
PARAMETERS GIVEN IN THESE DOCUMENTS SHALL BE STRICTLY
CONFORMED WITH ANY ITEMS AND LABOR REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE
BUILDING IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES, STANDARDS,
AND THESE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. ALL ITEMS, SYSTEMS, ETC. OUTLINED
HEREIN SHALL BE FURNISHED WITHOUT INCURRING ANY ADDITIONAL COST
TO THE CONTRACT. CAREFULLY REVIEW ALL CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND
THE DESIGN OF OTHER TRADES BEFORE PREPARING SHOP DRAWINGS.
7. COORDINATE PIPING WITH STRUCTURAL AND PLUMBING. MAKE OFFSETS
AND TRANSITIONS TO COORDINATE WITH OTHER TRADES WITHOUT
ADDITIONAL EXPENSE TO THE OWNER.
8. COORDINATE ALL REVIEWS OF WORK IN PLACE PRIOR TO CONCEALMENT
OF ALL INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR WORK.
9. CONTRACTOR SHALL CHECK AND COORDINATE ALL DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO
PROJECT LAYOUT. CONFIRM EXISTING CONDITIONS WILL ACCOMMODATE
DIMENSIONAL CRITERIA SHOWN FOR NEW WORK, CONSTRUCTION, AND
INSTALLATION. THIS CONFIRMATION WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
GENERAL CONTRACTOR.

GENERAL NOTES:
1. TOPOGRAPHIC & LOCATION SURVEY COMPLETE BY LARRY WALKER LAND SURVEYING, INC. IT SHALL BE
THE OBLIGATION OF THE CONTRACTOR TO SATISFY THEMSELVES AS TO THE ACCURACY OF THE EXISTING
SITE IMPROVEMENTS FURNISHED ON THE PLAN BY PERSONAL EXAMINATION OF THE SITE AND THE EXISTING
CONDITIONS.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL PROPERTY CORNERS AND BENCHMARK. IF DESTROYED DURING
CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR SHALL REPLACE AT HIS EXPENSE.
3. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGE CAUSED TO EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS ON SITE
OR OFF SITE DUE TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT. CONTRACT SHALL REPAIR OR REPLACE ANY
DAMAGED EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS AT HIS EXPENSE. REPAIRS SHALL BE EQUAL TO OR BETTER THAN THE
EXISTING CONDITIONS.
4. CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT ALL UTILITIES AND LOCATE ALL UTILITIES WITHIN THE WORK AREA PRIOR
TO STARTING CONSTRUCTION. ANY CONFLICTS SHALL BE REPORTED TO THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO STARTING

CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE FOR EROSION CONTROL
1. PRIOR TO CLEARING SITE, CONTRACTOR SHALL BEGIN BY INSTALLING CONSTRUCTION DRIVE, AND PERIMETER SILT FENCES.

6. CONTRACTOR MAY NOW BEGIN GRADING THE SITE.
7. WATER FROM THE SITE SHALL BE DIRECTED TO TEMPORARY SEDIMENT PONDS AT LOCATIONS SHOWN ON THE PLAN OR AS
DETERMINED BY THE CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO BEING RELEASED FROM THE SITE.
8. DISTURBED PORTIONS OF THE SITE WHERE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY IS PLANNED TO STOP FOR 21 DAYS, SHALL BE
TEMPORARILY SEEDED. THESES AREAS SHALL BE SEEDED NO LATER THAN 14 DAYS FROM THE LAST CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
OCCURRING IN THESES AREAS.
9. AREAS NOT TO RECEIVE PAVING, SIDEWALKS OR BUILDING EXPOSED AT GRADE OR NEAR GRADE SHALL NOT REMAIN
UNDISTURBED FOR MORE THAN 14 DAYS WITHOUT PROVIDING TEMPORARY STABILIZATION. TEMPORARY GRASSING OR
PERMANENT GRASSING SHALL BE INSTALLED TO MITIGATE THE EFFECTS OF RAIN ON THE SUBGRADE OR FINISHED GRADE.
10. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE INLET PROTECTION AROUND ALL INLET STRUCTURES IMMEDIATELY UPON CONSTRUCTION.
11. RIP RAP SHALL BE PLACED AT THE EXITS OF ALL PIPES IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING CONSTRUCTION.
12. ALL DISTURBED AREAS TO BE TOPSOILED SHALL RECEIVE 4" OF TOPSOIL AND BE GRASSED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
SECTIONS 650 AND 652 OF THE ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.
13. CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL TEMPORARY SEDIMENT DEVICES AND DIRECT ALL DITCHES TO THEIR FINAL LOCATION
ONCE ALL ON SITE AREAS HAVE BEEN STABILIZED.
14. WHEN ALL DISTURBED AREAS HAVE BEEN STABILIZED THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL TEMPORARY EROSION
CONTROL DEVICES (INCLUDING SILT FENCES) AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FILING THE INTENT TO TERMINATE NPDES PERMIT AND
OBTAINING NOTICE OF TERMINATION FROM ADEM.
15. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FILING THE ADEM NOTICE OF INTENT (NOI) AS THE "OPERATOR". THE
CONTRACTOR MAY CONSULT GONZALEZ-STRENGTH & ASSOCIATES FOR ADEM PERMITTING, MONITORING, AND TERMINATION
OF THE ADEM PERMIT.
EROSION CONTROL NOTES
1. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL IN ACCORDANCE WITH FEDERAL, STATE, AND
LOCAL LAWS, CODES, AND REGULATIONS. ALL EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHALL BE PROPERLY MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT
CONSTRUCTION UNTIL ALL DISTURBED AREAS ARE PERMANENTLY STABILIZED.
2. EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHOWN ON PLANS ARE A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT; ADDITIONAL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES
MAY BE REQUIRED TO PREVENT SEDIMENTS FROM LEAVING THE SITE AND SHALL BE IMPLEMENTED BY THE CONTRACTOR AS
NEEDED DUE TO SITE CONDITIONS.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING EROSION CONTROL DEVICES IN GOOD OPERATING ORDER
DURING CONSTRUCTION AND FOR REMOVAL OF ALL SEDIMENTS AND EROSION CONTROL DEVICES ONCE THE SITE IS
PERMANENTLY STABILIZED.
4. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FILING THE NOTICE OF INTENT (NOI) AS THE "OPERATOR" INCLUDING ALL ASSOCIATED
FEES; PERFORMING ALL INSPECTIONS, BACKGROUND AND CONSTRUCTION SAMPLING, AND MAINTAINING INSPECTION AND
UPSET REPORTS REQUIRED BY NPDES PERMIT REQUIREMENTS CONDITIONS. IF CONTRACTOR IS UNFAMILIAR WITH SUCH
REQUIREMENTS, CONTRACTOR MAY CONTACT THE ENGINEER FOR MORE INFORMATION.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL MONITOR AND MAINTAIN ALL EROSION CONTROL DEVICES AFTER EACH RAINFALL OR AT LEAST TWICE
A MONTH.

NOTED ON THE SITE MAP AND PERMITTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NPDES REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS.
STORM DRAINAGE NOTES
1. ALL STORM DRAINAGE PIPE SHALL BE RCP, CLASS III, TONGUE AND GROOVE, CONFORMING TO ASTM C-76 INSTALLED WITH

3. THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR OF ALL WALL, FLOOR, AND ROOF OPENINGS (DIMENSIONS ANDLOCATIONS). THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OPENINGS IN THE STRUCTURE. COORDINATE THE LOCATION OF FLOOR DRAINSWITH MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT PRIOR TO ROUGHING IN OR PLACEMENT OF MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT.

2. THE UNIT ITSELF IS SUITABLE FOR "0" INCH CLEARANCE, BUT THE SUPPLY AIR DUCT FLANGE AND THE FIRST THREE FEET OF SUPPLY AIR DUCT REQUIRE 1 INCH CLEARANCE TO COMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL.
