RELATIONSHIP GOALS

GUIDELINES

“It’s something we can take up and down, and utilize in different ways.” -Dave Prendergast

“If we could utilize them as two different things as the season goes along. Shelving for plants that can be used as an amphitheater for our workshops.” -Dave Prendergast

“Something that can be broken down to leave a lot of open space.” -Dave Prendergast

OUR MISSION

A multi-use module system that can be adapted display space, and educational use. The primary focuses are moving ability and space

saving, while also being reproducible for other urban farms.

OUR DIRECTION

Triangle shape both distributes weight and is sturdy.

Simple hinging allows pallets to be stacked as they already are on site, for easy storage.

This shape allows for evenly distributing sunlight.

Enables more space for plant resale.

Minimal modification preserves more embodied energy.

Leverage brackets can hold at least 268 lbs.

Hinged shelves can hold at least 230 lbs.

Flats usually only weigh 20 lbs. each, so each shelf only needs to hold 40 lbs.

FEEDBACK

“This is beautiful. I like how it all stays attached to the system. We tend to lose parts here.” -Dave Prendergast

“The height of the shelving needs to be more like this blue sideso that the sun can reach to the plants in the back row.” -Dave Prendergast

“We all said we liked the locking system that had the little pieces - they could be a little sturdier, but they’re easy to remake if they break.” -Ryan Kock

“Placement [of the pallets] isn’t the issue- it’s because it is on both sides. You can’t place them so that both sides face south.” -Ryan Kock

TIME: 2:30 approx.

CONSIDERATIONS
