What We Will Be Doing

You will be creating a work similar to Mr. Klee’s painting.

Color an index card with various brightly colored crayons, then color over the bright colors with black.

You will use toothpicks, paperclips or coins to scratch off the black crayon, making a goldfish and water scene on the card.

Process

Write your name on the back of the index card.

Lay the index card over a piece of paper to protect the desk.

First cover the WHOLE card with bright colors

Second cover ALL THE COLORS with black

Next use a toothpick, paper clip or coin to scratch a goldfish design or scene on the card, as well as patterns to look like an underwater scene.

Remember positive and negative space.

All the black is your negative space
