What is Pneumonia?

Pneumonia is a respiratory condition where there is an infection of the lungs.

The most common type of pneumonia is streptococcus pneumonia which is a bacteria.

How do you get Pneumonia?

If you have had a cold or the flu you are more likely to get pneumonia. You are also more likely get it if you have a long-term disease like asthma or cancer.

How long does it last?

The incubation period for pneumonia is 2-4 days.

It can last 24-48 hours with treatment and much longer without.

How deadly is pneumonia?

More than 60,000 Americans die of pneumonia every year.

How do you get pneumonia?

The most common causes of pneumonia are bacteria and viruses found in the environment.

The pneumonia vaccine was invented in 1796 by Edward Jenner.

How can you keep from getting pneumonia?
