Presidents Message
Thank you to everyone that made this year’s auction a success. We could not have done it without the support
of our members.
The month of November has three F’s, family, friends and food! Thanksgiving brings us an opportunity to be
grateful for all the wonderful people that enter and exit our lives. For all of you who are traveling to see loved
ones this year, be safe. I hope you all will have time to attend the luncheon as one of our own will be
entertaining us this yea. So don’t leave town too early it’s going to be a good one.
As for those Black Friday sales, I think I may just pass on that and wait for Cyber Monday. It is just as fun to
shop the sales on my computer while wearing my jammies and sipping something warm.
Happy November, Rene’
Best Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is here, so our minds have turned
To what time has taught us, to what we've learned:
We often focus all our thought
On shiny things we've shopped and bought.
We take our pleasure in material things,
Forgetting the pleasure that friendship brings.
If a lot of our stuff just vanished today,
We'd see the foundation of each happy day
Is special relationships, constant and true,
And that's when our thoughts go directly to you.
We wish you a Thanksgiving you'll never forget,
Full of love and joy—your best one yet!

Member Autobiography
Patrice Chandler
I grew up on a small farm in a small town south of St. Louis, MO with 6 brothers and sisters. I graduated with a Degree in Nursing from the University of Missouri. In 1983 I joined the Army and spent the next 20 years active duty, working with infants and moving every 3-4 years. In 1986, I was
assigned to Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora which is now the University of Colorado Hospital Campus. During my time here I went to Graduate School at CU. I earned a Master's Degree in Neonatal Nursing, graduating in 1989. Also, while in Colorado, I met my husband, Jeff. We married in 1990. He was in Colorado, I was in Washington State. The Army allowed me to move back to Colorado in 1991, but I was reassigned to FT Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX in 1995. Jeff stayed in CO while I moved around on different assignments until retiring in 2003. When I moved back home full time it was an adjustment for both of us. My final assignment was as Director of the Army's 91C (LPN) School in El Paso, TX. After retiring from the army, I worked at Parker Adventist Hospital in the NICU (back to the babies) until last fall, when I officially retired from Nursing. We have two dogs, no kids. I enjoy hiking, biking, travel. We both love CO in the summer. We spend part of the winter in AZ.I found an ad for PNC in the local newspaper after I retired in 2003. I have been a member ever since. :-)
