the last few weeks, we have had two staff retire , Kate

CAREERS NEWS:
Term 3 will be a very busy one for our Stage 6 students with work experience and taster programs being organised.
A group of students from High School 8, 9 and 10 will be attending Greenacres, at their training facility, each Wednesday for
four weeks, beginning in Week 5. Kirstie and Sheryl will be accompanying these students.
High School 11 and 12 will be attending Flagstaff at Warrawong for four Taster Days, beginning week 4. High School 11 will
be at Flagstaff each Monday, with High School 12 attending on a Friday. Sabine, Lisa and Kristie will accompany these
students.
The WOW program continues from Friday week four, with students attending the Dapto Fire Station with Alison and Rose.
Jake continues with his own program at the Disability Trust each Thursday. Jake has been delighted to meet up with past
students from our school each week and has decided that he would like to work in a pizza parlour when he leaves school.
Jake has also met new friends through the WOW program, maintaining the friendship through daily emails with his new
friend Marcus.
We will share photos of the new experiences our students are enjoying in the next newsletter.

Welcome to High School 6!
High School 6 have had a productive first half of the year and have come back this term ready to learn more.
We have been working hard on our literacy and numeracy skills each day.
Visual Arts is a class favourite. We have been learning about the form and function of art, as well as studying different
artists and their artworks, which we then try to recreate.
As a class, we try to stay active. Each morning we walk the track, and throughout the day get moving with brain breaks,
stretching and exercises. Last term, we had a blast practising Rugby Union skills with Susie.
All members of High School 6 have shown their maturity and increased independence in Food Technology as they
prepare food items. A definite highlight is then getting to eat prepared items.
