Are You Using Purpose-Driven Pages?

• Identify the purpose of the page.– Get a call?– Get an e-mail?

– Get information about user?– What do you want them to do?– Where do you want them to go?

Have You Identified Your User?

• What is the demographic?– Commonly-used demographics include race, age, income, disabilities, mobility (in terms of

travel time to work or number of vehicles available), educational attainment, home ownership, employment status, and even location

• What is the geographic?– Think dart board...

• What is the psychographic?– Commonly-used psychographic attributes include activities, interests and opinions.

What Design and Functionality Should We Consider?

• Colors– Primary and Secondary

• Shapes• Look and Feel

– i.e. Clean, Modern, Bright, Basic, etc.

• Functionality– i.e. Photo Galleries, FAQ Module, Quiz Module, Search Module,

Shopping Cart, etc.

FACT:

If your landing page takes more than 7 seconds to load – most visitors will abandon the site and create a higher “Bounce” rate.
