“Our Heart To God’s Heart”

Communion of Reparation Vigil

June 7-8, 2013

The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus can be

considered as ancient as the Church itself.

Introduction

It began on Calvary, when Jesus’ Divine Heart was transfixed by the lance.

IntroductionHowever, this devotion was

only practiced by few chosen souls and it is only on the

seventeenth century that the Heart of Jesus was honored in

a solemn manner.

In the year 1675, Jesus Christ appearead to a pious

nun, Margareth Mary Alacoque in a monastery in

Paray-le Monial, France

Introduction

“Behold, this Heart which loves men so ardently, is so little loved in return”

Jesus then desired that a special feast should be set apart to honour his Heart, and to offer it in worship

and reparation.

Means of Honoring the Heart of Jesus

1. Frequent Communion

Since the object of the devotion to the sacred

Heart of Jesus is to enflame all Hearts with love, the

memorial of all the miracles of love of Jesus is the HOLY

EUCHARIST.

2. Frequent visit to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament

There is nothing so acceptable to the Sacred

Heart of Jesus, or so beneficial to our souls, as to

visit him regularly in the sacrament of His love, The Most Blessed Sacrament.

3. To Sanctify the first Friday of every month.

“You must communicate on the first Friday of every

month so as to honor my outraged Heart.”

The first Friday of each month is therefore a feast day

establish by our Lord Himself, a day which his Divine Heart

expands to bestow on us copious and special grace.

4. To venerate it’s pictures.

Jesus desired that the representation of His Heart should be publicly exposed,

in order for him to touch the cold hearts of men.

He promised to pour forth abundant grace to those

who honor it.

Challenge!Each of us must

practice the spirituality of the

HEART!

C- onversionAll of us needs to change

our lives to put them in line with God’s demands.

We should incarnate this conversion into an affective

action.

No renewal can move forward without it.

O- ffering our daily lives

Offering our daily lives in all sincerity and

seriousness to God means asking him to work

through each of us, to fulfill his will and purpose not only in ourselves but

also in the ongoing course of the plan of salvation.

R- eparationIn my flesh I fill up what is lacking in the suffering of Christ, for the sake of his

body the Church Col. 1:24So it was written: the Messiah had to suffer and on the third day rise from the dead. Then

repentance and forgiveness in his name will be proclaim to all

the nations Luke 24:46

May the Hearts of Jesus and Mary be

praised every where!

Ave Maria!
