Two eco-districts planned in the 90‘s: Vauban (5500) Rieselfeld (11.000 inhabitants)
Three main goals: Low energy consumption Good social structures High living quality (Social Housing district from the 60s being the negative example)

Result in very short: High satisfaction of inhabitants, High real estate and rent prices Vauban among the five „best loved“ districts of Freiburg, Rieselfeld among the second best loved (more than 89 % satisfied) The success of the districts making it more and more difficult to keep up the goal of social mixity
