Adjectives

• A word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically related to a noun to

modify or describe it.

• The comparative form of an adjective is used for comparing two people or things

(e.g. he is taller than me), while the superlative is used for comparing one person or

thing with every other member of their group (e.g. he was the tallest boy in the

class).

Adverbs

• A word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb,

or other adverb or word – group, expressing a relation of place,

time, circumstance, manner, cause, or degree.
