Node Any computer that connects to the blockchain network

information than financial records

Block Permanently recorded data on the blockchain network

Dapp Decentralized application, open source, stored on blockchain

Smart ContractEmulate the logic of contractual clauses, runs on top of a blockchain

What is Blockchain?

Decentralized ledger or distributed ledger

Managed by a peer-to-peer network of nodes

Reduces the need for 3rd party intermediaries or middlemen

Linked and secured using cryptography

Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block,

a timestamp, and transaction data

Resistant to tampering or modification of data

• Tampering is detected and rejected as hash is messed up

Bitcoin is the first use case leveraging blockchain

Land Title Records:

• Many countries now accept electronic versions of land title records.

• Others still rely on original paper documents.

• This is one reason why the title insurance industry takes in billions in

revenue annually.
