You’ll need:

• Pencil

• 1 piece of paper for the miniature Ames room that you

can create using these instructions

• Scissors

• Markers

• Tape

• 2 equal-size figurines

• Small piece of cloth

To create:

1. Trace the image on the next page onto your

piece of paper and use your scissors to cut it

out along the thicker solid lines.

2. Use your markers to decorate

the floor in the area labeled

“floor” and decorate the walls

in the areas labeled “wall” (I

made two windows on the

wall that was angled, like in

the drawing).

3. Fold the diagram on the thinner solid lines.

4. Start taping the edges together. For the

short-side-wall section, tape along the dotted line

instead of the solid line to attach the ceiling and

the floor.

5. When you have taped it all

together, you should have one

open side, which will be the

front of your room. Put your

room on a flat surface floor-side

down and add the 2 figurines

(I used horses).

6. Cut your piece of cloth so

that it is big enough to fully

cover the one open side. Cut

a small hole in the middle

of the cloth, and then tape

the cloth along the top of the

room so that it hangs down as

the final wall.

7. Look through the hole in your cloth.

You will notice that the toys appear to be

different sizes!
