MOTIVATIONS:

- A new economic activity has been established in Rio Grande related to

shipbuilding industry, with the significance and potential similar to the

largest shipbuilding clusters in the world.

- The success of the shipbuilding industry depends largely of the synergy

among the several players involved in the environmental, technological,

economic and social challenges.

•10/15/10 – OCEANTEC was approved in the CONSUN and received 5 ha in the campus

•10/29/10 – Accreditation in RS Program for Science and Technology Parks (PGTEC)

•12/23/11 – First funding from PGTEC: US$ 465,000.00 – Main building construction

•03/22/12 – Signature of a MOU with Rio Grande Mayor to include the municipality

counterpart = US$ 730,000.00 – Main building construction
